And of course her name is "Kaley".

That seems like the kind of name a racist Karen would give to her daughter.

Just for everyone reading this who doesn’t wanna read the article, the “possible” hate crime was her trying to rip of this poor woman’s hijab, yelling slurs at her, pouring a liquid over her head, and trying to set her hijab on fire. This behaviour is disgusting and I’ve seen it so much more recently. Very scary and I will be following along with this case to hopefully see her charged with a hate crime. During Ramadan too wow

You’ve seen a lot of people trying to light hijabs on fire while they’re still on someone’s head?

Considering the location and that other article about this same woman being arrested 5 months ago for waving a machete around a plaza across the street from this library, she is likely part of the drugged out homeless population who shuffle around that plaza all day long now. It didn’t used to be like that.

Regardless, I agree with the sentiment that she needs to be separated from society and not allowed to hurt or intimidate any more innocent people.

OMG what is wrong with her what did the Hijabi do to her? Calm down!
The hijabi was sitting down, studying with her laptop and books. This sets an extremely dangerous predicament in my opinion, especially if the government chooses to not address this as a hate time. we are a secular country and everyone has the right to practice their religion however they choose.

This person waved a machete at a man not too long ago also in ajax and was released only to do this. Stop releasing these type of people into the public. They are not fit to be in society

Not the first time she's has been arrested:

Just like the guy that beat a homeless man to death sleeping on a bench on U of T property last week. Had previous charges of stabbing someone and robbery and was free out on bail. His name is Adimabua Chukwuka.

Same guy two years ago...

everyone else understood what I said I think, but no I said I’ve seen more racist attacks against muslims and brown people. And I’m going to be quite frank, I don’t care if she was addicted to drugs or not, she should not have behaved the way she did. I have loved ones who are addicted to drugs and if they ripped a cross off a Christian woman or yelled slurs at a Jewish person walking by, I would say the same thing. Lock them up.

There are 2 possibilities here, she has been high for so long or was so high that she has no idea in her right mind what she’s doing, and surely it wasn’t an actual hate crime. Then, that means she could’ve done this to a child, an elderly person, an animal, or to anyone. meaning she is a threat to society and should be given help.

Or, she is drugged up but actually does hate muslims, in that case get her help as she’s a threat to the freedoms of our country.

And I never realized that area was so notorious for homelessness and drugs. I know it wasn’t the BEST area but like you said it wasn’t like that before. Very unfortunate and the drug crisis seems to be only escalating

Wow, another case of our soft on crime justice system. It seems there is no end to such examples.

It's a wonder how anyone feels safe.

Not so long ago our ex-PM said that citizens have no right to defend themselves.

The cops tell us to leave our car keys by the front door so that criminals breaking into your house to steal your car keys, and your car, have easier access.

Amazing.

Truth be told, we live in a society that doesn't know what a woman is. So it makes sense that we don't know what a criminal is either.

Hopefully people take this into consideration April 28.

Anyways, enough hate to go all around in this world, we can thanks religions for creating strong foundations for most of the animosity and hate.

Damn, that might create even more hate once people realize that all the major religions of the world were founded by brown people.
