I've been to dozens of F1 races, most in the Paddock Club and it is indescribable. Except for the VIP Pit Walks, I didn't often get into the pit when people were working, and never during a race but you are right. Incredible people, you can't imagine the professionalism and how finely tuned even the back marker teams operate. There is nothing like it! And the sound!!!!! Back in the 2002-2003 BMW V10 engine days, the noise HURT even through the earplugs! It shook my bones and still gives me goosebumps. I haven't been to a race in the current V6 Turbo era so can't compare but I imagine it is still awesome. But it really has become too expensive. My way was always a fully paid ride and can't imagine paying a couple thousand for a weekend in Montreal now. But .. mayyyybee if it's a nice weekend I might try a last minute road trip this year!

If anyone gets the opportunity, go! It's like a magic mushroom trip in terms of the experience being indescribable. If you are a fan of F1 it really is worth going at least once!
Lucky.😎

I've been to Montreal, Monza and Zandvoort once. I was high as a kite for the Dutch Grand Prix, I believe Nelson Piquet won the race.

I was wrong the SF24 was used in the Arabian Grand Prixs. Is Toto Wolff making the same mistake twice? He's signed prodigy Kimi Antonelli to possibly replace Lewis Hamilton. His team-mate at Racing Prema in F2 is Olivier Bearman. As an Italian the lure of Ferrari will be too much for him, he'll eventually sign with the Testarossa.

I have my fingers crossed that 2024 will be more competitive than 2023.

Sainz must not leave, Hamilton fangula!

Informal poll: did Alonso brake check George? After watching the footage over and over, I say no... but interested in everyone else's thoughts on it. Seemed like a harsh penalty.
PS... jealous of all you assholes who've been to races. Dying to go but can't find the cash... so expensive!

Read this article. It explains the decision.

It doesn't look like Alonso did anything wrong, it was a judgement error on Russell part. He had too much speed going into the turn, Nando has always been notoriously difficult to lap.

I dunno man... based on that article and the videos I watched, it seems like George was "anticipating" Alonso's moves and the old guy threw a wrench into his plans by doing something different and caught George off guard. You know... veteran racer vs newer driver.

I think Russell has been trained by Mercedes and Dodo to complain and whine about anything they can’t change. Any other more talented driver would NOT have wiped out? Whine. Whine. Cry. Whine some more
I'll agree with that.
Toto has also taught Lewis to be a cry baby.

Mercedes have signed Kimi, supposedly the next one. I don't want to see him degenerate into a blubbering crybaby.

I loathe the fact that Carlos Sainz is leaving, but Hamilton won't be there long. Ferrari are grooming Ollie Bearman to take a seat in the near future. So much for British racers not welcome at the Testarossa, Mike Hawthorne and Phil Hill both won the Driver's Championship with Ferrari. Bearman is from Chelmsford...sorry I don't know where that is.

Fuck FIA, corrupt bastages!

We went to the Montreal race pre covid, a great time. Now the weekend would be waaay too expensive:
2 return tickets VIA 1, beats driving and relaxing.
4 nights hotel, good luck getting a room or AirBnb for <$500 per night
2 tickets on the hairpin, secondary market >$2000?
food, drink, snacks and a souvenir, lots of good restos in Montreal

Total: $5000++
