Be street smart and do not give anyone money upfront. Do not trust any photos shared by brokers and make sure the hotel you choose is one of the known chain like Ramada, Best Western.

I recommend to go for a hotel or condo airbnb in Sukhumvit area as it is closer to the subway/ main market and a walking distance from nana plaza. I stayed in Hyatt which was 10 min away on foot and had no issue in working in EST and hopping to nana during lunch time for some nice tities.
