I can see Nylander asking for a trade at the end of the season. He and Berube have already had a few run ins. He seems to be the opposite of Berube's ideal type of player.
I was watching the real Kyper and Bourne on you tube yesterday, and they said according to this website, which I forgot, that the Leafs chances of making the playoffs this year, are around 12%.
Also, according to this show, another controversy coming up, is will Matthews play in the Olympics for the US starting in February 2026, or not. The Leafs are paying Matthews $13.5 million/yr, for basically getting injured all the time. Knowing the Leafs luck, Matthews will become healthy just before the Olympics start.

Don't think it's a matter of becoming healthy for the Olympics. More like not injured enough to play in the Olympics. It's not just Matthews. Look at Tkachuk. He was so injured that he shut it down after the Four Nations. He started the Finals but couldn't finish. That's how hurt and injured he was yet still dressed over a perfectly healthy Kyle Connor. The regular season is not where one kills themselves. The playoffs though is where one could play injured and Tkachuk did. Especially with circumventing the cap although we don't have that anymore.
Nylander has been called out by Babcock, Keefe, Dubas, and now Berube...surprise.
Soft, unengaged, no heart, the epitome of what plagues the team.
And he had an A on his sweater this year.

As a close bud of mine said "the team has no dawgs on it." Marchand might have changed that, but he preferred the beach and low taxes. Whoever is easier to trade, Matthews or Nylander, and I'm down with it for a damn good return. We'll have company, because the Canucks are gonna have to make a decision on Quinn Hughes, while the Preds and Blues have pretty much declared their rosters open for business.
Marchand preferred a winner, he wouldn't have been enough to make a dent on this team.
Matthews is a great player, but he's not a leader, Reilly assistant cap., yeah right.
This team is a corporate zombie, soulless and driven by PR and endless price gouging at every level.
I won't go to a Leaf game even if tickets are comped, it's a morgue in there.
My friends thought I was nuts when I said Matthews wouldn't re-sign because there wasn't a prospect of winning in sight. It's Matthews who's nuts for re-signing.

Mistake number one. Listening to Kyper and Bourne. But like last year's 4 Nations. If Matthews gets healthy enough to play in the Olympics. Best to rip the C off of him.
I'd keep Matthews until he's a UFA. Let him suffer and ruin his free agent value.
I really like the Kyper and Bourne show along with Sammy McKee. I wonder if Matthews, Knies and Roy , will be playing tonight against Columbus.
They've mouth pieces for player agent Darren Ferris. Kyper sounds clueless every time he speaks and I don't blame it on CTE.
I kind of disagree with you. I really like Kyper, Bourne, and Sammy Mckee. They also always get good guests like Luke Fox, Elliotte Friedman etc Also, they make the show funny. I really like Sammy McKee as he has a good sense of humor.

Kyper said back in free agency that RFA Bowen Bryam was gonna get an offer sheet in the neighborhood of $10-$12 million per season. Spit out my coffee laughing when he said that. He also said years ago that the Maple Leafs should trade Matthews to the Yotes for Max Domi and OEL. The whole panel is only funny because of their stupidity. Jeff Marek is the guy to listen to. Very insightful and tons of hockey knowledge.

Kypreos is an idiot and is LAPPED by TSN insiders on trades. His 'sources' suck and I still don't know how he got another job at SNET after they let him go years ago, mostly because he wasn't breaking deals.
I used to blame it on CTE but if that were the case he would've gone off the rails by now. He's just a meathead.
Whatever happened to Jeff Marek?? It seems like sportsnet fired him. Marek is also not on 32 thoughts anymore.
I like the sportsnet sports crew better than TSN. I really like the JD Bunkis podcast every morning at 9AM on the Fan 590. I'm not really that thrilled with overdrive with Noodles, Jeff O'Neill and Bryan Hayes, on TSN.
Disclaimer - I worked at Sportsnet on the production side for close to 10 years until 2015. I know them pretty well.
