I have to put my vote in for our home boy - Neil Peart.
Is he the fastest ? No. There are many who play drums fast - if that is your only measurement.
Neil Peart was a musician - he played drums as an instrument. While you can sit in a room and marvel how fast the same monotone drums could be beat - for me Neil Peart was like watching a black and white TV bloom into colour. It was not an olympic contest - instead this drummer produced a full range unique melody. It is no surprise that he wrote much of the music for Rush ...

I think its pretty known that Neil Peart is considered the best drummer of all time. But there are many contenders. Danny Carey was mentioned. I was blown away when I first heard Tool. Another drummer that blew me away was Buddy Rich. Check out his videos on YT if you don't know who that is.
