I respect that every person, has valid feelings as to why they have the political leanings they do. It is not about being stupid on either side. So although almsot no people in my orbit are Trumpsters, some are, and I also want to better understand why they feel so passionate about him. So I 'did my research".
Every psychologist who I have since read, heard or seen on YT on the subject says the above victimhood mentality underlies it. FFS, even Trump who is a billionaire, President of the United States and an absolute demagogue with 70+ million devotees, of which many would indeed, literally, drink Jim Jones Kool Aid, is constantly whining about how unfairly he is treated, how everything is rigged against him. He appeals to that instinct in those who for whatever reason, feels things are 'unfair' and they are victims.
It's also a classic ploy out of the "How to Create a Cult" instruction manual.

MAGA is a white male movement, the one group that is the most entitled in america, the one group that doesn't live with a system that doesn't value them based on race, religion, skin colour, sex or sexual orientation. They grew up thinking they rule the world so for them to have to accept limits on their behaviour in any form makes them foam at the mouth. People who grew up knowing what driving while black entails are used to living within systematic limitations. Not MAGA, for them to think that other people might get the same chances, the same priority in a group or the same pay drives them nuts.
Now they are trying to figure out why pushing for extremism and violence made themselves a target for white male extremists.

I reckon there are different level leagues - eg baseball ya got pro, AAA, AA, etc. English premiere league (championship, league one, two, etc). Same with politicians/pundits.
Thus I'm curious what's going on in the top level on both sides. It seems the debates are comparing different level pundits.
It seems the stupid lefties out there being held up as representing "the left" are people I've never heard of. Thus the minor leagues. People with no power or authority outside of their podcast followers. Regardless if they're mocking or threatening they're idiots, as this assasination is a tragedy.
Whats going on in the pros/premiere leagues? On the right Steve Bannon, Elon, etc etc are all on the blame/they're killing us/ etc. and fomenting a civil war, even though they really don't even know the assassin's full mind set. Same with a R congressman. Even the President is blaming.
On the premiere league left I don't see this. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
When the Dems in Minnesota who were part of a Trump supporter hit list were gunned down no cries for vengeance or civil war from the top. No people losing jobs. No federal flags at half mast. Attack on Paul Pelosi -out right mockery, including Don jr. No one lost their jobs.

I've always noted the Tucker Carlson model, which was to invite some idiot humanities professor onto his show and make them look silly, Washington generals v Globetrotters style. Thus I'm getting the same feel.
Right wing radio for a generation has been on an existential hair trigger. "Theyre coming for you!" First it was Muslims, then BLM, then Antifa, then caravans from Mexico, then democrat run reeducation camps, etc. Thus "civil war", "when can we go to the guns?" seems to have been a constant over there since Obama (or maybe earlier like Timothy McVeigh).
