I saw that photo of the rifle in the cardboard box and thought it was just some stock photo from some online surplus seller. The scope is mounted wayyyy too d\far back. Apart from the HEAVY recoil of a 30.06 (I've shot maybe 40 rounds through a 30.06 many years ago and it packs a wallop of a recoil.) And the that far back scope would definitely bash you in the brow and maybe eye socket. It's called 'scope bite'
And a slightly built kid like the suspect would likely not have enough meat on him to absorb the recoil in. a prone position withut a bruise on his eye and evn maybe on his shoulder to some degree.
But most of all... mounting the scope back that far and shooting from a prone position would be near impossible to aim. As anyone with any familiarity with aiming scoped firearms, or binoculars for that matter, your eye needs to be a certain distance from the lens to get a full sight picture. That scope is mounted way too far back .
And as for the 'engraving". That also stood out in the original "found the gun and trans bullets in the woods in a towel" FBI news release. I even mentioned in an earlier post that it is hard to engrave on a cylinder and even harder to hand scratch it on a bullet that is less than a 2/3rd of an inch in dai and the brass case less than 1/2' Dia
These asshole seem to be interpreting manufacturer's case stamped headstamps as being some sort of shooter engravings.
If any of this is true, Trump's Fed's are outright incompetent, if not stoking unrest with "fake news".
