The fact that they co-opted the rainbow was bad enough now that anything with a rainbow on it is seen as a gay political affiliated symbol.

But given that they had the rainbow flag... it was inclusive to everyone. Constantly changing it with new colours and symbols and more letters in the alphabet soup is rudimentary capitalism. It has nothing to do with pride, equality, and inclusivity.
I don’t normally agree with you on most topics, but I agree with this statement. The whole reason that the rainbow was chosen was because a rainbow is seen as inclusive. Meaning everyone. Adding to it has nothing to do with inclusivity and if anything is saying the rainbow flag was not inclusive at all. Just like all the extra letters in what was once LGTBQ. I understood adding the Q because that meant queer which was everything else not seen as Gay, Lesbian, Trans and Bi. The Q was to represent everyone else. Fluid, non-binary, etc. Even just adding the + because some don’t think themselves as “queer” if there are pan-sexual for an example. So the + was to be inclusive of everyone else. Now it is just getting out of hand.

This is why we can't take the mainstream media and leftists seriously. They're hypocrites, cheats, and liars.
that,s no way to present an argument...painting everyone with the same brush.....ever since my father took me as a kid to a church hall to listen to Tommy Douglas i became a life long leftie....not woke or a virtue signaller...and neither a hypocrite cheat or liar..............but i share a love for music just like you...we lefties are not all bad lol

Easy for you to say because you got a cool umbrella in the flag. Johns didn’t get anything. How about a dollar sign within a drawing of a penis just above or below the sex worker flag? There is room in that last version of the flag.

On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Greece
Pride pushed the limits of public acceptability...If they reign it in to what it started out as everything would be okay.

And the idea that special interests groups outside of the organizers intent are trying to muscle in not right either. The pro Hamas crowd have no common ground with the organizers of this event.

“johns” shouldn’t get anything. This is about sexual orientation, not sexual encounters. Now if you want to make an argument for a “S” standing for straight to be included in the acronym, I can get behind that, but transactional sex has nothing to do with sexual orientation or gender. Transaction sex is just sex.

Sex workers should not get anything either for the same reason.

EDIT:

From Google AI
  • While not a universally recognized symbol, the inclusion of an umbrella in some pride flags can symbolize protection, support, and the idea of being under a protective umbrella for marginalized groups. In some contexts, the umbrella can also specifically represent sex workers, who often face discrimination and stigma.

I agree with the symbol if it is for the former but not the latter. This is an example of how it is getting out of hand. Sex workers don’t need to be included in this. This is not about sex but about sexual orientation and gender. Two totally different things.

But many people from the LGBT community ARE bringing their kids
As is their right to raise their own children as they see fit. Welcome to western societal values -- where it's apparently normal to expose children to graphic violence in video games but the naked human body? sexuality? being comfortable in just your own skin? Somebody think of the children!

I really don't understand the pearl clutching going on here. Everyone here is literally on a forum for sex work; presumably this would mean more than average here have a sex-positive view of the world. There are far worse vices in life than sexuality, and it's still up to parents to teach their kids to be upstanding citizens.

Pride wouldn't be necessary and the world would be that much kinder if everyone could learn to mind their own damned business. Despite all of the crying about "leftist" cancel culture, nobody ever lost their job for keeping their mouth fucking shut. Just saying.

You would be surprised. Many who partake in this industry do so under a hidden level of shame. As escorts, we see it a lot.

I do agree with you on many of your points.

Sex work faces a greater threat from the married gays and lesbians having kids and going to the Parent Teacher chili supper and then returning to their houses with white picket fences.

Hard for anyone to argue against sex for money in a private room being immoral after watching a public Pride parade as described in this thread.

We need allies in debauchery.

Well then the lefties just need to keep their mouth shut then.
Lefties are far worse then anyone else at shooting their mouth off at how everyone should behave or what they should believe in.

It's not normal to expose little kids to violent movies or video games, that's why the government came up with an R-rating
