Don't know why people assume tariffs mean reshoring. For the clothes most Americans buy, it typically means switching production to another low-cost country (e.g., moving from China to Vietnam). This can mean lower-quality clothes, as the brand works with a less ideal factory.
It's hard to get Americans to buy MiUSA clothes because Americans fundamentally don't value clothes. Men, in particular, think spending a lot of money on clothing is gay, vain, stupid, etc. If you think something is stupid/ worthless, you aren't likely to spend a lot on it.
I'm sure he's sucking millions of $$$$ in side deals as we speak.

Why make such an idiotic comparison. Canada has vast, sparse lands and a very severe climate. That Canada is able to do as well as it does with these challanges is a triumph of Canadian grit. Canada did ok with the last negotiations, this battle will end up with trade negotiations heading towards the mid terms again. With Trump needing to show a WIN and once again we will do OK. Last time the Trump thought they could divide Canada and Mexico and get a better deal. The Mexicans caved, Canada did not.
