Is a sitting president capable of doing it? going after political opponents? do you have an example? This is the first time i'm hearing this.
Listen to recordings of any of Trump’s rallies…he’ll tell you all about it.

From Wikipedia:

Alejandro Nicolas Mayorkas (born November 24, 1959) is an American attorney and government official who was the 7th United States secretary of homeland security, serving from 2021 until 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, Mayorkas previously served as the director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Servicesfrom 2009 to 2013, and the 6th deputy secretary of homeland security from 2013 to 2016.

GOSH…it looks like he actually IS qualified for the job unlike most of Trump’s nominees.

Anyhow…please direct me to the post where you expressed your extreme concern about Mayorkas’ qualifications and suitability for the job back when he was nominated because I don’t recall this being a particularly conflictual nomination nor do I recall the MAGA bros on terb giving much of a fuck at the time.
On paper he does...but he followed mandates that opened the border so there's that... BIden picked him because he's an obedient dog...

Then why do innocent people need pardons?
That is indeed a problem.
Maybe visions of benghazi, which found nothing, but cost millions.
Visions of Durham, which was longer and more expensive than Mueller but in essence found one lie on a non essential issue.
But that being said, agreed, a terrible look that raises a lot of questions.

Well…at least he has the qualifications on paper which is considerably more than any of Trump’s nominees and as far as I know he has not committed any crimes that Biden ordered him to commit nor tried to overthrow the government at Biden’s request.

How many of you leftists would surround yourselves with people DISLOYAL to you?
Only an arrogant psycho dictator would refuse to listen to wise council , but then again, he has surrounded himself with imbeciles and billionaire tech bros with ulterior motive$. Now he's firing all the justice people who investigated his Jan 6 crimes. They are impartial and were just doing their jobs according to the Constitution. The dictator is out of control

The dictator is out playing golf and holding incoherent press conferences with threats against random things daily.
The real danger is Russ Vought.

"Wise council" like agreeing on hiding the mental state of the president for 4 years and then making him "step aside" and replacing him undemocratically with someone else to run for office?

Tell me how all of that worked without "loyalty".

I'll wait.

So Biden had supporters and Trump has stooges! Got it. Terb is obviously not the place to have serious intelligent unbiased discussions. 👍🏻

Carry on.
You obviously lack critical thinking skills, so I think I'll spell this out for you.

What we are talking about here are the non-appointed positions. Think of them as the buracracy that makes the government run, and are in the same position no matter which part is in power. We have them in Canada. They can be GOP or DEM supporters, that doesn't matter, as long as they do their jobs. Biden did not attempt to get the entire public sector employees to quite, and his administration would not have new applicants decalre their loyalty to the president. In fact, all oaths for the US government, from the military to what ever, are to the constitution. So, the fact that Trump wants to replace everyone with those who are loyal only to him is very problematic.

If we were to compare cabinets, which the president appoints, there is an expectation of loyalty to the president. That is fine. BUT....cabinet ministers in most administrations will push back on reckless or unlawful measures. They will challenge the president/PM or leader to ensure that things go smoothly. Now, the president can ignore them (which does happen). Now, Biden filled his cabinet with intelligent people who had experience in the area where they would be managing. For example, Marty Walsh was his labour secretary, and he has experience in labour relations and unions. Avril Haines was Director of National Intelligence, and previously was Deputy Director at the CIA.

Now, we turn to Trump. His cabinet is filled with cronies who are wealthy Americans that have little or no knowledge of the portfolios they will oversee. Pete Hegseth was in the military...But has no experience managing such a HUGE and important area. RFK Jr. is no doctor or scientist, and is pretty easy to see, a bit of a whack job when it comes to vaccines. Will either of these guys have the stones or balls to push back on Trump if he tries illegal shenanigans? Probably not.

I know, I know, you are a righty, so anything Trump does is as if god himself called for it. And, you probably don't see anything wrong with any of this. But, as you so accurately pointed out...."Terb is obviously not the place to have serious intelligent unbiased discussions. "

Trump wants to be surrounded by people who's willing to work with him...what has most of the democrats done so far? they are willing to challenge everything he will do...What the fuck do you think you will say if he can't deliver his promise because of these crybabies? You will then go on the internet and scream Trump isn't doing shit.... his first week he has done a lot... but no, you're basically melting down...we all know why...you have TDS...
LOL. Keep telling yourself that buddy. Again, you lack the depth of knowledge to even know what the fuck you are talking about.

First, Trump surrounds himself with ass kissers. And, if you are stating that the Democrats are voting against his appointments or plans....duh? Like, what did the GOP do for virtually all of Biden's appointments and the legislation he tried to pass? This, of course, is a bad faith argument, but nobody here is surprised by that.

Second, Trump cannot deliver what he promised. Are food prices going down? Nope. In fact, they are likely going to skyrocket, because his mass deportation scheme has removed or scared off a lot of the workforce that picks the food. And, he is already mishandling the bird flu, which has seen the price of eggs skyrocket. And, he hasn't even imposed the tariffs yet....And of course, one of his fancy EOs was to basically allow drug makers jack up prices on things like insulin.

It is TDS, its facts. And, while the right used to LOVE saying facts don't care about feelings, they sure get the feels when the facts don't agree with them...

If he was, I'd say so. He hasn't addressed the things that were important to most Americans, and in fact, has made things worse. I'd say his popularity is going to crash, but his loyal cultists (like yourself) will only believe this is part of the process....lol

How has he made things worst? He was voted back in because of the promise of getting rid of illegal immigrants.

Actions have consequences. And, if you read my post, you will know how the mass deportations are going to seriously impact the price of food in the very near future. Which, as mentioned, was something Trump promised he could solve quickly. It is amazing how quickly you forget those promises...lol

They can't process the idea of good faith arguments.
In their mind, there is only loyalty and subservience.
I realize that most of those in the bubble are only making logical conclusions based up the facts they are given. The problem is the facts they are given are either cherry-picked, or some of those are not facts, or so devoid of context that the wrong conclusion is inevitable. Moreover, often those facts are presented to maximize emotional impact. And then they tend to communicate only with like minded people causes even more polarization and outrage. Thus when told that info upon which their anger edifice is built is not correct they respond with anger and insult.

BTW this is a human process, not exclusive to right wingers. I remember dealing with some ardent feminist once who made outrageous claims (more women than men died in WWII, that 90% of men have raped a woman, 90% of women have been raped, or that it was impossible for any woman to consent because of the patriarchy so all sex was rape etc etc). Contradicting her led to fury, insult, complaints to authorities.

You already have Skoob in the other thread saying Trump will fail on that promise. (Or maybe that it was one of those "don't listen to what he says, listen to what he means" things, where real Trump fans like Skoob knew the promise was always bullshit.)
