Canada Post has been losing about $1 billion per year, yet doesn't modernize or trim its workforce accordingly like any other private business would need to do to remain competitive.
So now, like every other public sector union, the public is held hostage and not getting services we have already paid for via our taxes just so people can make more money and feel entitled to a job.
These days there are plenty of alternatives and it's time to take Canada Post & it's union behind the barn and put it out of its misery.
According to the union, its list of demands includes wage increases aligned with inflation, enhancements to group benefits — such as coverage for fertility treatments and gender-affirming care — improved protections against technological changes, more paid medical leave, paid meal and rest periods and higher short-term disability payments.
