That's crazy, from the story sounds like the murder of her brother was also thrown out.

Apparently she was active in Calgary too

This is where the Social GOP of Canada come out to make prostitution completely illegal to protect men.

My guess...she ha s a little black book and there's some prominent names in it...

Or because her defense will use "It's illegal to pay for sex in Canada", as the reason they dropped the manslaughter charges. And are her victims going to come forward to testify? Probably not.

“Her father [Kane’s] was abusive to her mother, and is on Canada’s most wanted list for intimate partner violence, defence told the court.”

What do you guys say in English? The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree

One of her clients must be a judge. How can you kill a man by overdosing and not get anytime?
The homicide charge was thrown out last year.

And she cut a plea deal on the other charges. This is straight from the article:...

Kane has already spent 23 months in custody which, with credit for time served, is already too high, her lawyers have argued.

She has no criminal record and pleaded guilty to theft, sparing the victims who are embarrassed and ashamed from having to testify, they said.

Defence further argued there was egregious conduct by the police, including 20 breaches of Kane’s charter rights.

Kane had a difficult life, working in the sex trade since she was 16 to support her mother. Her father was abusive to her mother, and is on Canada’s most wanted list for intimate partner violence, defence told the court.

They would get immunity. The drugging and theft charges are far more serious than the soliciting charges.

Men are treated far harsher in our criminal justice system, that's just a fact. Equality under the law is a hollow concept. She drugged and robbed at least 6 victims including one that died. All the drugging and manslaughter charges were stayed. 23 months in custody is a sick joke. And I could not give a fuck about her upbringing, enough of treating criminals like victims and the true victims so poorly.

Kirk, sounds like the cops screwed up their own case. That's how the homicide charges got tossed.

You think a judge is actually going to toss homicide charges because he might be blackmailed and not simply come up with a flimsy reason to pitch the case to another judge and dodge out?

Tossing a serious charge for personal reasons would get any judge removed from the Bench. No judge is going to take that chance. He's going to have a quiet glass of sherry with the Chief Judge explain that he "made a personal mistake" and arrange that another judge takes over the case.
