The source praised the counter sniper who acquired the target and responded within three seconds, calling their performance “incredible.” “The counter snipers are highly trained and extremely accurate,” he said. Others with law enforcement and military backgrounds want to know whether the Secret Service utilized drones, i.e. small unmanned aircraft systems, to provide detailed situational awareness. If the agency did not use drones, why not, these experts ask. The use of drones has been a controversial issue within the agency since at least 2016. Implementing drones would have provided detailed line-of-site analysis and aerial surveillance that would have easily identified the rooftop as a potential threat area. “The USSS has access to all the best imagery and elevation data,” the military expert told RCP. “I’m not saying they didn’t [use drones], but it’s an open question.” The once vaunted Secret Service lost some of its former respect after a string of fence-jumping incidents and other security lapses came to light during the Obama administration. At the beginning of the Trump administration, a senior special agent in the Secret Service came under fire for suggesting in a Facebook post that she wouldn’t “take a bullet” for Trump. Kerry O’Grady, the former agent in question, was placed on administrative leave but was allowed to retire with full benefits, which outraged many in the Secret Service community. The agency, more recently, has come under scrutiny for its diversity, equity and inclusion policies, after a female agency attached to Vice President Kamala Harris’s protective detail and identified as Michelle Herczeg, had an apparent mental breakdown and physically attacked her senior officers at Joint Base Andrews before a trip. An agency spokesman called the issue a “medical incident,” but other members of the Secret Service launched a petition over the agency’s diversity, equity and inclusion hiring and vetting policies during the Biden administration, asfirst reported by RCP. In addition, after the attempted assassination of Trump Saturday night, conservatives blasted Rep. Bennie Thompson, the ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee, for earlier this year introducing a bill co-sponsored by several other Democrats that would have denied Service Service protection to Trump if he were convicted of a felony. The measure never gained traction in the GOP-controlled House. After the attempted assassination, which killed one innocent spectator and injured at least two others, Thompson tweeted that he is “glad that the former president is safe” and is “gratefully for law enforcement’s fast response.”

For example... a 3 second reaction time when you already have crosshairs on a prone man with a telescope (!) pointed at the President? Gimme a break. If a sniper was set up with crosshairs good enough for a headshot, he'd have seen that it was a rifle and taken the shot.

So far, a confusing - and at times conflicting - picture has emerged of who Crooks was as a person.
Speaking to local news outlet KDKA, some young locals who went to school with him described him as a loner, who was frequently bullied and sometimes wore "hunting outfits to school".
Another former classmate of his, Summer Barkley, cast him differently, telling the BBC that he was "always getting good grades on tests" and was "very passionate about history".
"Anything on government and history he seemed to know about," he said. "But it was nothing out of the ordinary....he was always nice."
Others simply remembered him as quiet.
"He was there but I can't think of anyone who knew him well," one former classmate, who asked to remain nameless, told the BBC. "He's just not a guy I really think about. But he seemed fine.
Jameson Myers, a former member of the Bethel Park High School varsity rifle team who graduated alongside Crooks in 2022, told CBS that he did not make the team.
"He did not even make the junior varsity team after trying out," Mr Myers added. "He never returned to try-outs for the remainder of high school."
Mr Myers remembers Crooks as seemingly a "normal boy" who was "not particularly popular but never got picked on or anything."
“He was a nice kid who never talked poorly of anyone and I never have thought him capable of anything I’ve seen him do in the last few days.”
A shooting club in the Pittsburgh area, the Clairton Sportmen's Club, later confirmed that Crooks was a member, although club president Bill Sellitto did not provide any more details.
Other community members said simply that they were shocked that the alleged perpetrator of the shooting could have come from the quiet, green streets of Bethel Park.
Among them was Jason Mackey, a 27-year-old local man who lives near the Crooks residence and worked at his school while he was a student.
While Mr Mackey said that he did not know Crooks personally, he is still reeling from a sense of disbelief.
"It's just shocking. You wouldn't think an event of this magnitude would come right out of your backyard," he said. "It's just a crazy situation."

Whenever his cause is lost he goes to extreme levels to troll, deflect, and try to outrage people. It's honestly as meaningless as his day to day existence. And why I just stopped engaging years ago.

It's going to be found out he registered to vote against Trump in the Primary. But his browser history is going to show support for the Democrats most likely.

Either way, as I said, he is I'm betting on the Spectrum.

At this point it can be safely said that the shooter is a registered voter
who selected Republican as party affiliation in his registration application.
It is not known if he had a voting record and if he had joined the Republican
party.

I’m not advocating for it generally nor do I care a whole lot for the Democratic Party. I have very little respect for any of them and am politically homeless right now.

I’m just saying that when a life long criminal and fraudster who caused people die on Jan 6 among other things gets shot at I consider it to be a rather natural course of events.

But my preference for his legacy would be if he was shanked in jail or better yet poisoned by his friend Putin.
