I don't think the Girl Guides ever did participate.

But enjoy this new outrage for a little while. It's clearly far more important than any other news.
I don't think they marched in the Toronto one, but they did in smaller ones, apparently in Ottawa, probably in places like Oshawa or Acton....

It does feel kinda stupid. While Santa is closely tied to Christianity....I think you can make a strong argument that he's more secular today...

Liberal logic on full display. A parade that welcomes everyone, for a fictional entity that brings joy to kids and presents to any. Including many that celebrate it, that aren’t Christian, That couldn’t possibly know what is or isn’t exclusive. Girl guides, will no longer participate in, because it’s not inclusive…

Sound about right?

So woke, wow. As if anyone on the left gives a rats ass what the Girl Guides are doing besides selling over priced cookies. LOL

If one doesn't like their policies, simple, don't send your kid.

So ah, a thread about Red righty silliness in the US with 2,400 replies is important stuff to woke lefties that don’t live there.

But what our children can or can’t do as girl guides here at home is just stupid, “who cares”.

More woke liberal logic right there folks.

I see, so let me ask you 1) is Girl Guides a private entity 1) do private entites, charities, companies have a right to have policies and let the marketplace decide if they will use their services or buy their products?

Diversity, Inclusion and Equity strikes again....

Looked up who Shannon Benner is...She's quoted in the piece..She's their new CEO as of Sept 12 this year.

So we know where this ''new'' direction is coming from.

More thimble outrage from Mr. Orifice. It sort of smacks of mendacity, we don't give a rat's ass about kids to begin with.

Unless you have some little Muslim girls in your GG troop whose parents won't let them celebrate Xmas. Then you have to leave those little girls out of your parade and that's unkind.

So now you have tens of thousands of little GGs with all kinds of Faiths, including atheist,, agnostics, Bhuddist, Christians, Pagans ( who have more claim to Christmas than anyone) who can’t attend because some exclusive parents and woke ( lol) liberals are small minded.

And the reality is, if they are that devout, they wouldn’t mind not being part of it. Liberal logic at it best.

Well, Canada does try and respect all faiths, doesn't it?

Which means we avoid calling Canadians with devoutly held beliefs that we don't share "small minded". At least most of us do. You might have different values.

We do thankfully. But being politically “correct” at times reaches into the bizarre. Baby it’s cold outside…

We also, above all else, respect freedom of choice. I’m sure there are Jewish GGs too, who likely don’t care if they do or don’t participate in a parade. Maybe they don’t celebrate X-Mas but want to be with friends or simply in a parade…or maybe not at all. It’s their choice. And maybe big sister should respect that, as well as the choices other parents might want or make, and lastly individual club leaders who probably knows the demographic of their troop better than some suit in Toronto who doesn’t know Ontario and Canada is a big place.

But if they want to be in the parade, there's probably another group of kids that's in the parade. Maybe "The Santa Klaus parade Elves" group. Right?

And they can be in that, as well as being in the GG's?

possibly, possibly not. Just more fuzzy woke Liberal logic.

An old expression or 6 come to mind. Don’t fix what ain’t broke.

This is Canada, if you can’t respect our heritage while you’re welcome here. Shut it.

You do you, I’ll do me

There's more to Canada than Toronto Mandrill. Try leaving the city sometime. See some of it. Many parts are still heavily Christian ( and no I’m not)

So back to square one. If parents of little Muslim girls, don’t want their kids in a Santa parade. Be a parent and make a choice. Yay or nay. Rather than screw over 10 thousand other little GGs who have never had a problem with it.

The next thing is we'll see some city council vote to ban Christmas parades....
