Jannik Sinner is contesting the Shanghai Open, after winning the Beijing Open I don't think he'll last long. Rybakina vs Samsonova coming up.

Iga vs Cori 6-3, 6-2.

Last season Iga didn't need to work on her defensive game. The competition has caught up with her this year, she's been making adjustments. This may be the best she's played defensively all year, it may not be enough to defeat Rybakina...if she doesn't have a US Open style brain fart.

I'm assuming a butterscotch/chocolate threesome isn't in my future.

Another missed chance by Leggy Supermodel, she got out aced by Samsonova, didn't expect that at all!

This is the second time Rybakina has lost to Samsonova, she also lost to her at the Canadian Open. That almost didn't count, Jessica Pegula had gotten a walkover, she was fresh for the Final.

Swiatek is now 8-1 against Gauff. Domination

Iga vs Liudmila is on now.

I didn't watch all of the Samsonova vs Rybakina, enough to figure out how she won. Liudmila doesn't serve as hard as Leggy Supermodel. Her service placement is accurate and her top spin is heavy. For Iga to win this match, she'll have attack Liudmila's second serve. When Liudimla is serving well, returns are stressful let alone hitting winners from. This match will go into tie breakers.

Boy wuz I wrong: Iga 6-2, 6-2 vs Liudmila.

Samsonova hit more aces and winners than Swiatek, unfortunately she also committed 26 unforced errors versus Iga's 0. Iga ate her up with fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Iga was anticipating a Final with Rybakina. I don't think Leggy would have beaten her this time. Iga has been conferring with her pal Andy Murray on how to defend against the big first serve. The Scotsman never lost a match against Milos Raonic.

Still sad Caroline Garcia was only 2 points away from eliminating former World # 1 at the China Open. :(
I once picked Caroline Garcia to replace Serena Williams as World No.1, athletically she has all the tools. Unfortunately mentally she doesn't, she cokes, she hardly ever goes for the kill. Rybakina is becoming the same way.

The most anticipated tennis match of the Shanghai Open Shelton vs Sinner. Jannik has shown amazing stamina in China, Shelton is the best prospect America has had in over a decade.

Sweet Leylah is technically solid, her serve and volley game is top notch. If she were Elise Mertens size she'd be challenging Iga for No. 1.

Sweet Layla wins the Hong Kong Open. Katerina Siniakova hits hard but Laylah had her defensive game working to perfection and I've already mentioned how good her serve and volley is.

As a billionaire's daughter, Jessica Pegula could have had it easy and become an entitled brat. I admire her for devoting her life to tennis.

Igaaa is at the top of her game at the moment, she worked on her defensive game for most of 2023. She is now a complete player.
