Likely suffering low testosterone levels. Get them checked out and look at supplements.
I'd strongly suggest that testosterone supplementation be the last resort. Among other things, it reduces your own testosterone production and can shrink your balls!

Exercise is the first and most effective way to increase testosterone levels. If someone is too lazy to exercise then they will have a lot of other health issues that will interfere with their sex life.

Here is some medical insight into testosterone supplementation from "The Urology Times". Basically, once you start with supplementation, it becomes a lifetime need because your balls shrivel up and shut down.

That's fine for older guys whose testosterone production naturally slows down and can't be reversed through exercise. Or younger guys who do not respond to other treatments including REAL exercise and therefore have a biological/genetic hormonal problem. But it is too often and easily prescribed.

Testosterone dependence: How real is the risk?
Richard A. Watson, MD

Men are being too easily enticed lately into ill-advised use of testosterone supplementation. Even men with only minimal, vague complaints are promised a hormonal fountain of youth and ageless virility. Many potential candidates seem to be under the misconception that “T” replacement will boost or energize their natural testicular production.

In fact, exogenous testosterone suppresses testicular function.

Before embarking on a trial of testosterone rejuvenation, men need to be made fully aware that, if and when they ever decide to discontinue testosterone supplements, their recovery from drug-induced “low T” may be highly symptomatic and prolonged. In some cases, testicular function may never return, even to its pretreatment baseline.

Once the treatment is stopped, men can experience withdrawal and severe depression, as well as the permanent inability to naturally produce testosterone."

You can try taking Ashwagandha (standardized). Good brands are St. Francis Herbs, 88herbs and Nature’s Way. Others have mentioned maca, etc. Those are all similar, but this one is very good if you are looking to relieve physical/mental stress.

It’s an adaptogen, and when you lower cortisol (stress hormone) then testosterone can get a boost.

If you’re clinically depressed —or think you might be — it can slightly worsen it very temporarily because it is technically a downer. Just like alcohol.

I use a half tab of Viagra when I do have sex and that does seem to help but I'm just not enjoying the experience as much
as I used to.
Page 2 and most people give the same advice 🤦🏻‍♂️

Eat well, sleep well, exercise and all that... but it doesn't take care of the mental side of the equation.

OP explicitly said that he doesn't enjoy it as much as he used to even when the physical part is under control.

This to me is very much psychological.

I used to enjoy going to clubs and bars, loud environments full of people in my teens and 20's. Now, I'm in my 40's and would rather spend time with friends and family in a quiet setting. I'm at a different stage in my life and it's perfectly fine.

I'd argue the same analogy can apply to sex. If one doesn't feel like having it, why do we force ourselves to behave in a different way? Does having sex very often validate something??

The chemicals don't affect your sex drive.
Feeling better about yourself will. As many noted, eating well and exercising and getting in shape will help heaps. Try that first.
If that doesn't work get a test for testosterone from the Doc.
Good luck.

It's waaay too easy to become despondent as we age, you have find ways to keep the mind stimulated and the rest will follow.

Let Donnie tackle your belly fat. I have learned from experience that if an exercise is designed for women, it's even better for men.

See your Dr. Get some blood work done. The Dr may also have some other tests to check things.

Finding out if any of your hormone or testosterone levels are down can be corrected if caught.

All great advice and a healthy does of the that special blue pill just enhances everything.

@johnd5050
I know you know this but others seem to think the blue pill is more than it is. It doesn't increase your libido/sex drive one bit.

It is a simple vasodilator that allows the valves that fill your dick with blood to open more on the supply, and restrict on the return. Taking a pill will not make your dick hard unless you are sexually aroused.

Chemicals?

Do you mean drugs like viagra or hormones like testosterone?

Because hormones most certainly do affect your sex drive. I'd go so far as to say that hormones are your sex drive. Not just testosterone but prolactin, serotonin, and other endocrine hormones. All of which are enhanced by exercise and adversely affected by a sedentary lifestyle. Getting a belly and losing sex drive by 40 for no apparent reason is a strong indicator of a sedentary lifestyle.

What you need is a right lady as tastes shift with age. Oh, yeah and lots of fresh air and good diet. Weed helps, too.

Hey folks,

I'm around 40 and have found that my sex drive has just plummeted in recent years. I have almost no inclination
for sex at all, whereas when I was in my 20's (and especially teens) I was basically ravenous.

I use a half tab of Viagra when I do have sex and that does seem to help but I'm just not enjoying the experience as much
as I used to. I have some extra belly fat that I need to get rid of but I'm not obese or anything.

Is there anything I can do here? I know getting older is part of life but I imagine there are some 40 year old guys who can keep
a healthy sex life going.

Thanks so much.
40's physically too young to lose your sex drive. Maybe some overall mood problems? Or health issues?

GTA & Thereabouts...
Mid-40s here... I can fuck for over an hour, but I have a tough time blowing my load. Can't get over-the-top... This is affecting my desire to have sex with the wife (when the opportunity rarely occurs).

I've been unable to see SPs since September 2022 due to a variety of reasons. I'm actually worried about my next session and being unable to climax.

Simple, but not easy

1. Control your stress
2. Sleep well
3. Workout
4. Eat healthy
5. Talk to your doc about test supps. If they reject you can buy online easily. Go to Reddit steroids and memorize their wiki
6. Workout
7. Workout
