In the days before social media, the only way a Doctor, Lawyer etc, could actually lose their professional license, is if they did actual harm to a patient or client, they were actually treating. Not anymore.
I doubt that's true.
I am sure there were always professional standards that went beyond patients or clients.

Why would anyone rent an 18,000 seat hall if they knew their audience was 5,000?
Possibly because he's not a rock musician, but instead a psychologist and philosopher, and has many other dates scheduled when people can see him.

Possibly because too large an audience may not work so well for things like Q & A when it comes to the types of discussions held.

Possibly because at an average of $100 per ticket that's gross revenue of $250k for a few hours of speaking.

Or possibly a combination of all the above.

Ask them. They're open to inquiry unlike the authoritarians you support.

Mandrill, I have to admit, you do make some good points. However, IMHO, "Dougie", actually thinks Trudeau is an idiot, but only "sucked" up to Trudeau, to get re-elected. It was personally hard for me to read about "Dougie", having actually "phone" therapy sessions with Chrysta Freeland, every night during the pandemic.

"Dougie", instead should have just concentrated on making his Cherry cheesecake---LOL
I think Duggo is a woke person masquerading as a normie to get re elected. I understand that Duggo has in fact started using "they / them" pronouns.

This whole "wokeness", thing is so ridiculous. In the days before social media, the only way a Doctor, Lawyer etc, could actually lose their professional license, is if they did actual harm to a patient or client, they were actually treating. Not anymore.

IMHO, "woke" ideology is not so widely accepted. It's accepted by the 30% of voters who voted for Trudeau. What about the other 70% of Canadians??

It's now mainstream. The anti wokes are now the fringe crazies.

Where else would you want him to go?

Probably cheaper to go to the Canadian Tire Centre than downtown Ottawa and the TD Place Arena.

That's the only other venue that could go that high.

National Art Center could do 3700 and would be great but pricey and couldn't accommodate the demand.

We're all well aware of the pervasiveness of wokeness. That's what makes it problematic. The link you posted goes in-depth about it.

Hi Mandrill. What about this article about the Law society of Ontario, and how they got rid of some dictatorial benchers??

My guess that he wants a certain level intimacy and knows with too large of a crowd that isn't possible.

Like you said the Q & A is a big part of the show as well.

He's in Hamilton tonight. Looks like another large crowd is expected.

His fame is skyrocketed lately. His YouTube channel now is up to 6.34 million subs. That's just huge!

It looks like JP has 30 more appearances scheduled from now thru May.

If each show averages a gross revenue of $250k, that's a whopping $7.5 million to listen to someone speak for 2 hours at a time (or approx. the equivalent of one and a half weeks of work).

That's winning by any measure.

That's fair. Ottawa is an odd town that way.
But 5,000 in an 18,000 seat hall is not a sell out or good house.
Venue and crew costs would eat into his sales, I would doubt he made much off of that gig.

I don't think his team paid that much Frank.

Monday night in Kanata the venue would pretty cheap I would think.

Mitchel, DirtyHarry and Oracle, are you 3 going to any of Jordan's venues to shake the man's hand?
He's getting into his Daily Wire work and the meaning Exodus lately. That doesn't really interest me.

Plus I've seen so many of his podcasts and interviews that I feel I know the guy personally,lol..I know I don't BTW.

Since he's made the comeback and is feeling healthy his delivery has become more methodical and intellectual. I prefer the old Jordan better. Way easier the digest. Wish he would dumb it down for the masses these days.

Still enjoy his content but won't be going to see him. Just being honest.

No one's disputing that he's making a shitload of $$$$. It's the intellectual dishonesty that - I suspect - lies behind that fortune that I question.
