As for the myth of cancel culture, some things need to be cancelled, such as genuine racism, sexism, homophobia etc. We live in a country where freedom of expression is a two-way street. If someone wants to say something douchey, they can, but the people who used to put up with it are now calling out those who hide behind bullshit like "It was a joke" or "You need to grow a thicker skin" or "You can't say anything anymore".
