This is the line of reasoning that keeps the blacks poor: ...
Historic and continuing discrimination is what is keeping blacks poorer on average and it is pretty clear which party is pushing discrimination and fighting tooth and nail to prevent any progress.

I always take a random guy who calls himself lord as speaking for a whole society.

he never claimed to speak for a group of people

It's even clearer which party loves them....during the campaigning season; promises them the moon and delivers nothing. Of course the Republicans are even worse- the Democrat politicos tell them.

maybe and maybe not. It's hypothetical at best.
It's a really safe bet, though.
Maybe he wouldn't have liked these particular leaders and thought they were assholes or something, but the odds of MLK not supporting a movement for police accountability are incredibly low given his work.
Now, if you want to argue he would have gotten old and changed all his politics around if he hadn't been assassinated for his views, then that's different and I agree its hopelessly hypothetical.

This whole post is just an attempt to delegitimize BLM. even if everything is true and the leaders are bad guys, which has obviously not been demonstrated at all, This does not change the message of BLM or the importance of dealing with the issues in order to create a more perfect union and right historical wrongs. Pretending that slavery did not exist or that the vestiges do not remain is simply delusional which is not surprising given the GOP wish to live in a fictional world that never existed..

Which party just got a black woman to the highest court?

And sorry but Dem progress which is often little more than window dressing is better than the GOP attempts to drag rights backwards by a couple generations.

The fact that you would think that shows how out of touch you are. First, BLM does not advocate violence. They are not like the Oath Keepers who plan to use force at some point, or the Boogaloo Boys who want to start a racial civil war. Do people get mad because of what happens to black people? Yes. The do bad things. But, the fact you cannot separate that is more on you then on BLM.

So, let's look at what MLK was saying by the time he was assassinated, which happened 54 years ago on April 4th, and his I Have a Dream speech just under 5 years before.

Here is something from 1968 that sounds like it could have been said yesterday by BLM:

But, sure, MLK wouldn't support BLM. At least if you took one small part of a speech he gave nearly 60 years ago, the only quote conservatives seem to know from him....
I don't know what world you're living in but in the real world BLM has been at the center of violent protest along with Antifa.
Sorta reminds me of the CNN reporter standing in front of burning buildings saying the protests are 'mostly peaceful'

Man, you really do live in a right-wing echo chamber. Keep in mind, these are the same people who called the January 6th attempted insurrection as heated political debate or no worse than tourists....

So, let's go over it again for the ones who have difficulty following along. BLM is not about violence. Unfortunately, people outraged by police violence did violent things as well. Do they support BLM? Possibly. But, remember, there were a number of right-wingers arrested for arson and other offences at the BLM protests in Portland and Minneapolis. As for Antifa, one of the right's favourite bogeyman, is not an actual organized group.

Now, I will say, violence tends to undercut the importance of the BLM message, which is why they do not call or support it. Peaceful protesters rarely (if ever) become violent. But, you cannot pick who joins a protest, so when violent folks join in, they all get lumped together.

This might be informative....

97% of BLM protests were non-violent while the police decided to come down extra heavy on BLM, more so in comparison to the anti-vaxxer right wing protests in Ottawa.

BLM is not about violence. Their head office is all about buying mansions.

And if a peaceful protest does turn violent, they won’t say shit about it.

You mean the same Portland burned to the ground by leftists?

Let me tell you something, you don’t live in a Left wing echo chamber. You write Fantasy & live in a Fantasy land. 🌈
