I used to get messages. But when the pandemic hit it all closed up. After a year of it I ended up going to an escort agency. Their were no other options. Is it a sin?

Yes, and now you are going to hell.
Mostly because of your other sin: you are a grown ass man and you don’t know how to use “their” and “there” in a sentence.

The right person for you to ask is the guy teaching in
the Sunday school you attend.

Well ... if you believe in the virgin birth, the resurrection, winged cherubs, saints apostles, being swallowed by whales and causing oceans to part ... maybe. But Jesus was also pretty good friends with a lady of questionable virtue.

Seriously tho ... if you otherwise live a life of kindness and you don't abuse, traffic or go to pimped ladies. Have at it. Just be safe.

I've got a lot of shit to deal with. Aging parents and in laws, a spouse with prior addiction issues, health concerns etc etc. So, if my sanity is preserved by a monthly visit to a nice SP or MP ... I'm not losing sleep.

God's view of Prostitution (truebiblecode.com)

God's view of Prostitution
The law of Moses did not outlaw prostitution in general. It did forbid the daughter of a priest acting as a prostitute and it forbade a father being pimp to his daughter. So it protected the sanctity of the priesthood and the family, but other than that it permitted prostitution.

29 Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, in order that the land may not commit prostitution and the land actually be filled with loose morals (Leviticus 19).

9 Now in case the daughter of a priest should make herself profane by committing prostitution, it is her father that she is
profaning. She should be burned in the fire (Leviticus21).

So a girl who makes herself into a prostitute profanes herself. And prostitution is loose morally. It is certainly not to be encouraged. But neither is to be outlawed. A girl could be a prostitute if her father was not a priest (i.e. if she was not from the daughters of Aaron) so long as her father was not her pimp.

Everybody is so picky lately!:geek: Maybe you ought to start a thread on the correct use of to and too - baffles me to this day...

It is striking that the Old Testament doesn’t actually condemn normal prostitutes, though it utterly condemns cultic prostitutes who had sex with 'worshippers' at Temples of the old Canaanite gods (Deuteronomy 23:17; Jeremiah 2:20). Also, there is severe condemnation for those who make people into prostitutes (Leviticus 19:29) and criticism of those who use them (Genesis 38; Proverbs 23:27; 29:3). Prostitutes themselves, however, were not ostracised by society – they could own property and could even present legal cases before the highest court of the land (1 Kings 3:16-27).

The book of Proverbs regards adultery as a far worse sin than an unmarried man turning to a prostitute (Proverbs 7:5-21). It regards both as wrong, though it points out that “a prostitute only wants a loaf of bread, but an adulteress hunts you for your precious soul” (Proverbs 6:26). Interestingly, many modern Bibles consider this is too soft on prostitutes, so they translate “a prostitute leaves you with nothing but a loaf of bread…”.

Eating shellfish and wearing clothes of mixed fabric is more of a sin than prostitution according to the bible.

FF, you're confusing the Virgin Mary (immaculate conception) with Mary Magdalene (the world's first groupie). MM hung out with Big J and the Apostles. VM gave birth to Jesus after she was impregnated by God.

I know, it's confusing. Ask a Catholic.

I thought god fucked her?
You say it was god's kid?
That's not very immaculate, that's just an affair with an SP.

The.morality of the "old testament " is much different than what Christianity evolved into later on, that's for sure. Like adultery which only applied to the married women as men where permitted to enter into polygamous relationships and even keep concubines.

Mary Magdelane isn't Mary of Bethany who isn't the "Sinful Woman".
(All this depends on which tradition you believe, of course.)

As for the rest?

God has told you what is good.
Act justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly with the Lord.

I know this is Politics, Religion, and all, but a theological discussion on Terb seems a little bizarre...
