A 10 year old car by today's standards is quite reliable.
There are 20 year old cars on our roads, and the body will rust out to shit before the engine / transmission will give up on many cars

Yeah they can put all that gear in place and lock things down but come on... it didn't work for John Deere did it? Hacking groups got involved and now you pay a few thousand so you can unlock your tractor and do you're own repairs. This DUI tech will be the same. Pay someone to bypass it etc...

sorry, you're right. Well the technology described is way ahead of what he have today... if it's easy I personally would be okay with it as I don't drive drunk.

So, once again, the habitual Drunk drivers will easily find a way around this, and the only people left holding the bag and having to deal with this stupid thing are the honest drivers who don't drink and drive anyway.

But that is what we always do in this country. Instead of actually properly enforcing the laws we currently have, we make more and more redundant laws, that end up penalizing those who follow the laws anyway.

Back in my clubbing days, after the clubs closed, and we all went back to pile into the designated drivers car at the lot, we once saw some dude, who paid a homeless guy to blow into the Breath locking device he had installed in his car. So he must have been an already convicted drunk driver.
