Mayor Patrick Brown said Brampton should get vaccine priority because they are at greater risk of infection.
And they should. I'd expect it to be clear that the most important people to vaccinate are the ones who are most likely to be exposed.

A lot can change in a few weeks, and has changed since March 20, 2021. Latest analysis by IC/ES (Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences) for the week starting April 4th shows Peel Region with the highest positivity rate in the Province at 16.23 %.

If you look at the data in the Tab "Percent Positivity by FSA" (which stands for Forward Sortation Area - a proxy for Postal Code areas) you find Area L6P in Brampton at 24.77 %, , L6R in Brampton at 23.33 %, and L6T also in Brampton at 21.88%.

Thunder Bay is now down to 1.79% and Toronto up to 12.22%

I am not stating an opinion here - just providing some up to date statistics. The reality is that things can change very rapidly - but I think most people would consider Peel Region to be a hot spot for Covid 19.

Fair post, did suddenly brown people start behaving differently over the last few weeks?.
My point overall is, people need to stop making this a racial thing when it is clearly not. The entire world is dealing with covid 19. We have morons here talking about pockets of ontario solely causing the spread. It's simply idiotic.

Yeah its only the BROWN people not wearing masks and not following the rules. That's why in almost every video you see of someone making a stink about wearing a mask and saying their civil rights are being dictated, or even going as far as to say covid isn't real is a brown person...oh no wait...those are WHITE people doing that. Are you guys kidding me right now? Blaming a whole cultural group or city is the dumbest thing I've heard. All cultures are involved. I can tell you that in my like of work (before this recent so called lockdown) we dealt with customers and it wasnt brown or black folk that had issues with wearing masks but the white folk, particularly middle aged white women. So everyone who thinks its brown people calm the f down...to the OP who started this thread get a life.

LOL, in fact as of March 20, 2021, Thunder bay had the highest at 6.69% followed by Peel at 5,83% then followed by Toronto at 4.99%. I guess Thunder Bay is full of brown people as well.
I guess you get your stats from the same people you get all your other non nonsensical information. As for you Indian friend commenting on how india is handling Covid, ...just because hes Indian doesnt make him knowledgeable about India. Honestly bro, consider where you get your knowledge from before you make opinions.
Check your sources.

This was 10 days ago. The positivity rates are even higher now. Close to 25% in some areas.
And considering the Indian people I know have family in India that they regularly talk to, and get their information from. I trust them more than you and your proven incorrect info.

Trying to stay in a Happy Place
Peel is ordering the shut down of businesses that have report 5 or more cases of COVID, for 10 days.
Nice to see that the Peel Medical Officer of Health is actually taking steps to hopefully contain workplace related outbreaks. Something that Doug Ford and his cabinet should have done months ago across the entire Province.

Update: Toronto Chief Medical Officer of Health confirms Toronto will follow Peel's example. Maybe this targeted approach will lead to a relaxation in May of the current unfocused sweeping shutdowns.

If you were going to post a link, you should have posted the report that supported your initial statement

"An Indian co-worker of mine regularly says India is horrible when it comes to following Covid measures, and often draws comparisons to them and the ones in Brampton residing in the areas that have a 25% positivity rate.
And let's look at that. 25% positivity rate. That means 1 out of every 4. Sorry, but there are not that many people working in Food processing. "

Anyhow Uncharted, the whole world is facing Covid 19 challenges. Stop this racist nonesense that somehow one colour is dealing with it better than another. Just look south of the border, how did they fair ??? its not a country with a majority of Indians.

Uncharted, this is what you said early in this thread;
"
I hate this it's because Brampton is filled with front line workers excuse bullshit.
I have family that lives in Brampton, right in the thick of brown town, and I get the reports daily.
They don't listen, and don't think the rules apply to them.

My family's entire subdivision of neighbours constantly are having people from other households over.
They see others pack up the youngins and everybody in the car on Saturday nights and leave for the entire evening. Now where would they be going when all the grocery stores are closed?
They walk around in stores with no masks, or masks only half worn......

Your sir, are a hypocrite, in another thread your argued that you should not have to wear a mask; I tool the liberty to copy a short piece of it. I could provide the date and time of the post below!

Uncharted said ;

"Should people choose to wear a mask?
Yes.

Should people be forced by law to wear a mask?
No.

Such laws are against our Chartered Rights and freedoms."

I said people should wear a mask by choice, not be forced by the Government to wear masks.
And I still believe that. But we are being forced by the government to wear them, so if the law is going to be in place, either everyone should follow it, or no one has to.

And this has nothing to do with colour, and everything to do with culture. The States has a similar culture when it comes to this.

Well, here is the report from my family member, who lives in Brampton, for this weekend.

On their street, which contains 18 houses including theirs, a full 15 of those houses had visitors over on Saturday. That means on a random street in their area, 83% of households are ignoring the rules. And people wonder why Brampton has such high Covid numbers.
