Rush defended Stern before the FCC over the broadcasting of Lord Of The Anal Rings. Rush respected Stern but it was unrequited, Howard took offense when Rush said he was self-made like him. The reality, Rush got his bearing working at a radio station owned by his father.

Like you, I do not wish ill health on anyone, but Rush Limbaugh's "cause" was to divide people, race bait, and spread half-truths and misinformation to a very large following in the US. His cause was not noble in any way.

I've listened to the clips of him from his radio show and the TV show he had in the early '90s.

Some highlights from Rush Limbaugh's career include:

- Him making fun of Michael J. Fox for having Parkinson's disease
- Calling women "sluts" for wanting access to birth control
- Calling feminists "ugly"
- Saying all drug addicts should be thrown in prison (he was also an admitted OxyContin addict)
- Calling universal healthcare "communism"
- Making racist comments like "(Blacks) are 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?”
- When talking to a Black woman who called in to his show, he said, “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.”

Please, please, PLEASE enlighten us to how Rush Limbaugh made the world a better place.

I was completely umimpressed. Fast talker, no real substance other than grievance, basically Archie Bunker with a bit better vocabulary. He was the first mainstream one that hundreds of grifters on both sides of the dial now emulate. Lots of racist dog whistles, xenophobia for White Suburban types against anyone not of their socio- economic background. And repeated ad nauseum. It was also mush, you just happened to like the cartoons on the back of his packaging.
