they are excellent sporting rifles used in competitions and target matches the light weight and low recoil make them perfect for smaller man and women the fact that they are so common means lots of parts and accessories (scopes sights ect)

semiautomatic rifle and shotguns are very commonly used for hunting semiautomatic shotguns probably outnumber pumps in waterfoul now due to reduced weight recoil and quicker follow up shots leaving less wounded birds flying away
