I take you didn't understand what I meant by that comment did you.
I understood your comment but have I ever defended the twits who went away. They resigned or were turfed and good riddance. I also hope if you walk around maskless in public places or caught breaking a rule are ticketed $1000.

I repeat, enjoy the lockdown and the tougher restrictions coming this week!

Mingling where??
In work places, homes etc...obviously all these cars on the roads are heading somewhere. Work places are the worst because folks start to believe everyone within that plant, office is a person in their bubble so the masks and rules get put aside. Once the mask, the only line of defense besides personal distance gets put aside, the virus gets in and spreads. Then the unsuspecting person goes home and further spreads Mr. COVID amongst loved ones. Hopefully it won't be one that is immune comprised and ends up in the hospital where it's believed by Feb. the docs will be deciding on who lives or dies based on the modelling but hey, who cares as long as the amigos are not inconvenienced.

The problem is everyone will start doing their grocery shopping (and other essential shopping) between 5am and 8pm which could start causing huge lineups everywhere. You could actually make things worse because people will be packed like sardines outside of every store
You mean everyone is currently doing their shopping between 8:00PM and 5AM? An 8:00PM curfew will hardly make shopping lineups longer. Besides, it's pretty evident by the contact tracing they're doing, that the majority of the spread is caused by groups of unmasked people socializing with people from other families. Not waiting in line outside a grocery store.

I'm actually a Capitalist by nature and no, I've never been on Reddit. I have a successful business that kind of points to me being more of an entrepreneur but hey, whatever floats your delusional world. Did you enjoy your lockdown travels through Quebec around Christmas?

just saw this on cp24 on my work break. Government sources told ctv that curfew is not recommended at this time
i bet you are forced to wear a mask at work aren't you? LOL

People can still go out 5:01am to 7:59pm and spread stuff around so having a crewfew will not help anything.
Contact tracing they're doing at testing centres shows that the majority of the spread is caused by groups of unmasked people socializing with people from other families. Also known as parties. Not waiting in line outside a grocery store.

Yes, and they're not in close contact with unmasked people for any length of time. Unlike lots of people socializing, (going to parties etc.) hanging out together with members from other families not wearing masks, between 8:00PM to 5:00AM. Hospital contact tracing has shown this to be a major problem.

If it keeps people from gathering with other families, parties etc. then yes. As that's the only thing that will reduce the number of people filling up the ICU beds. But I don't think think people would obey a curfew, so it's a moot point. We'll see if it make a difference in Quebec.

I think thats what Ford is gonna do, wait and see if its working in Quebec and then try it in Ontario.

I'm okay with a curfew, since everything is pretty much closed anyways

Yep, because grocery stores are usually so busy at 10 PM.

But yes, curfew's are stupid without an actual lockdown.

Ontario's contact tracing is atrocious. Last I checked they were only listing a known source for a few percent of cases and there was no way that Ford could have known that a second wave would require improvements.

I know that 'close contact' is the leading source but I haven't seen much more detailed breakdowns.

Then what? You'll have kids running around in groups during the day and line ups of people waiting outside for groceries like they do in communist countries. Do you not think a virus can spread that way too.
Well, kids stay at home and grocery is put directly into people's cars (most stores do that fro a long time). And this way the spread of the virus will be much slower than when kids are in the same indoor classroom or people are in the same indore store space.

Can anyone explain to me why you need to be out/what's there to do between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM right now? Legitimate exceptions aside?
I simply like to stroll on the streets. And I have no idea how it can lead to the spread of COVID infection. On the other hand, I can see how taking a bus, taking a child to school, or going insider the grocery store between 5am and 8pm can.
