Hey guys,

My career got completely destroyed by Covid. I'm mid 30s, unemployed and living with my parents lol.

What's a hot industry in Toronto to break into in which I can make 60k /yr. I have an Engineering degree but I don't think I can or want to work as one again. I want to be able to afford 3 SP sessions per month. So almost any non labor job that's easy to get into and pays 60k/y or 3SP sessions per month, I'm pretty happy.

Ha Peetscoffee,
The pandemic has altered many careers and have left many without employment. With an engineering degree you have many options that can offer you the income level you are looking for. The entire employment environment and demands have changed and will continue to change during these trying times.
If you are looking the make a change consider the many service industries that have emerged from theses challenging times. Affiliated marketing is an emerging sector that many are jumping into. Low overhead, wide range of products and can be done from home, if necessary.
Just a thought. Best of luck.

If you live rent-free with mum and dad, any minimum wage job should pay enough for 3 sp and a cell phone bill.

What type of engineer? I'm curious why you wouldn't go back to something close to your field?
Aerospace. Super nerdy stuff. I hate Engineering and being a nerd though. I can't go back to other kinds of Engineering because I don't have a P Eng nor a PMP for a project role, and I'm not interested in getting one.

Yeah I live rent free but it's gonna last only 2 months. I need 60k ish fast or something sales related where I can save 1m USD and not worry about working again. I rather just chill all day, walk around town and make love with everyone. We're on Earth just to eat and make love. I'm not sure who came up with this idea of working or having a job. It really sucks.

There are tons of sales jobs in the tech sector and engineers have a great opportunity to fill these positions.
Indeed and LinkedIn for job postings.

I pretty much guessed you were in aerospace.Yea that industry got crushed. I know some “aerospace lawyers” who are out of work now. Sorry to hear you lost your job.

Curious about how you got to become an Aerospace Engineer but hate Engineering and being a nerd. Is there some stigma about being an Engineer that turns you off?
I've been in Engineering for my entire career. I don't have a PEng nor a PMP, and don't plan on getting either. I've always gained some level of respect from being in Engineering.
I personally don't think that you need either a PEng nor a PMP to get a job, but I get that the market might be tight these days. Mind you, I'm a step older than you (I'm late 40's), so my experience may be quite different from yours.
But I still wouldn't throw away the Engineering degree in the trash unless you really never wanted to be in that field in the first place.
You never know... it might come in handy one day. Keep the Engineering degree in your back pocket, just in case.
Also, keep in mind that your career and your job doesn't entirely make your identity. I could talk a lot longer about that, but this isn't the forum for that.

Good luck. Many people do go through career choices in their lives, and it is a tough long-term decision.
And there's no need to be embarrassed about living with your parents. Just be thankful that they're there when you need them. You'd be in a whole lot more stress if they weren't there, and it gives you the time and liberty to make concsious decisions.
