Trump says he wants country opened up by Easter, despite caution from health experts

Really.... is that cryptic cowardly statement your way of saying you think it is appropriate for Trump to encourage churches to be packed on Easter Sunday, when the curve is just starting to take off due to his poor leadership and absurd incorrect statements regarding the pandemic? If so... you're an idiot.
Here's what it is wrong in your short post (you packed quite a lot in):

1. Trump is not encouraging churches to congregate in violation of public health directions. He simply expressed the hope that they may be able to do so before too long, and expressing the view that such congregations might be an excellent way for communities to begin to heal following this crisis.

2. The curve is "just starting to take off" in some parts of the United States, is well along its path of progress in others, and yet in others isn't manifesting itself significantly. Where these various curves are will, without doubt, be assessed before restrictions are lifted anywhere for anyone. The administration has made this clear for those who are prepared to hear what they say.

3. If Trump's leadership is poor, so is everyone else's, at least outside of South Korea. However, it's pretty rare for any leader to hit upon the exactly optimal response to an unprecedented crisis. Reasonable people would expect a certain amount of trial and error in responding to something new. If you were fair minded, you'd cut him some slack accordingly. I certainly wouldn't have any more confidence in the decisions you would make if you were President, and neither should you.

4. Trump has been providing press conferences with both himself and respected scientific minds speaking at the podium. He has not been attempting to contradict what the scientists say at these pressers. He has been trying to present hopeful viewpoints. If you can't see that, then you may not be capable of viewing his actions objectively. He is a cheerleader, not a scientist. However, he is right that getting the economy back on its feet is important, not to protect the fortunes of the 1%, but to provide the means of paying for the cost of all these health care precautions as well as health care itself.

What I think is idiotic is ascribing motivations or objectives to a politician which fly in the face of the TOTALITY of what has been said AND DONE.

DO is a detriment to the board. Truly a mean spirited entity.
I guess it depends on whether: a) you think this board would be better if everyone agreed with your views, and b) whether it is mean spirited to disagree with you. From my point of view, I neither think you are a detriment or mean spirited because you disagree with me. I just think you're wrong.

Now trying to assemble groupthink around any issue - that's something I think is a detriment to any internet forum (or any discussion in society).

This one is pretty funny, though in a disgusting human kind of way.

Looks like he said the quiet part out loud again.
He just admitted that he wants people back to work, not because they want to get back to work, but because it'll be better for his re-election.

LOL... What a fool.

Ah yes, Dr. Trump of prestigious Trump University knows science, "only 15 cases and going down to zero soon." America are you entertained yet, because you put a clown in charge!

Trump is not a cheerleader... he is an idiot, and he specifically called for churches to be packed with people on Easter Sunday. That is about 2 weeks from now and is totally insane and it goes against all the medical advice from qualified experts. That's promoting the spread and will only ramp up the curve, which means many will fall ill and not be treated at all!

No one is making anything worse for you Frank. You were shackled to your home computer before the pandemic, and you'll be shackled to it after. Unless someone cuts off your hydro, I don't see how your life could change at all.

New problems require open minds. That's why no one is consulting you on what to do. And that's why you just can't process what Trump and his administration have been saying.

I truly wish you and wigglee could "hear hear" better, because Trump did not "call for" churches to be packed on Easter Sunday. Maybe if you could "hear, hear" better you wouldn't get yourself so upset.

I see, so as someone with an 'open mind' who can process what Trump's been saying, do you want to explain this?

It pales in comparison to displaying such an emotionally charged devotion to and an infinitely more undying compassion for the 'plight' of the heinous white supremacist Charlottesville murderer than to the plight of thousands and thousands of innocent grandmas and grandpas that he has intimated should be sacrificed at the alter of capitalism in a wholly Darwinian knee jerk reaction to kick start economy NOW.
