When the story first hit the first thing I thought was "let's wait and see if it's true". Now I'm thinking "let's wait and see if this girl needs psychological help".

Kids can make up some pretty elaborate stories.

As the cops asked for more details she made them up.

I doubt the parents put her up to it because now a days there are so many cameras on the street.
1) Yes everyone already knows how kids make up elaborate stories. Just NOT this one.

2) TPS were already onsite at the school and had issued DETAILED news alerts by 8:50 and another at 9AM. So no. You are wrong that the two kids made it up on the fly as the investigation progressed. Plus how (and where) did she cut the hijab, I guess she just conveniently carries a pair of scissors in her pocket...then ditched them before entering the school. That's pretty savvy for 11 and 8 y.o. kids.

3) So according to you then, there should be zero street crime. "Because nowadays there's so many cameras on the street". Or zero bank robberies; or convenience store robberies; or TTC assaults; or shoplifting; etc etc. Yet fact is many thousands of crimes are committed throughout the world every day despite the fact criminals KNOW cameras are everywhere.

Geez I wish I had rose coloured glasses like some of you people lol.

Think what you wish, however there is no doubt these kids were coached by an adult(s). Although it's likely a further "victim" story will be made up for the media.

If I were to create a hoax I wouldn't make the central witness an 11 year old girl who would fold under pressure.
The girl was very composed during the hastily prepared "press conference" shortly after the heinous "attack", almost speaking by rote. So what makes you think she "folded under pressure?"

Police dedicated valuable resources to finding the smiling Asian attacker, under a lot of pressure to solve this case for three solid days. I highly doubt they leaned on the kid..more likely the mother folded.

My favourite part is that all the outlets that splashed this story everywhere, rather than outright apologizing and condemning the false narrative, are instead saying simply "even though it didn't happen this time, it DOES happen and we can't let down our guard". Even though I agree with that sentiment, all them printing it does is convince me that the next time this happens they'll jump all over it the same they did this time, without waiting for proper verification of the facts.

Maybe her parents were behind this, who knows. The important thing is that this single incident says NOTHING about Muslims as a whole.

What? When I watch the news conference it looks to me like she's making it up as she goes along, pauses are a little long, looking down because she is unsure of herself and what she is saying. I bet the TPS sat down with her again and how she related the storey again just didn't match what she first said. And how many Asians have moustaches? lol.

I'm betting $1000 the story was made up to avoid punishment from her parents.

My Theory - and its not very far fetched

Very common for Canadian born Muslim girls to start rebelling against wearing the Hijab. She was probably removing it on her way to school only to put it back on before going home. Someone who know the family probably spotted her without it on, and in a panic she made up the story to Mom.... Next thing we know Mom is calling CP24 and posting shit all over social Media.

If anything I truly feel sorry for this girl
And for this reason I believe hijab's and burkas should be banned in Canada.
Could you imagine if parents made their gay kids wear a hijab for whatever reason??
The whole country would be outraged and scream homophobia, but somehow its OK to force muslim kids to wear them.

France banned burkas in 2010 and good on them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_ban_on_face_covering

Curious this girl blamed an Asian person, not Black,White nor Hispanic. At age 11 she thinks Asians are beneath her on ssociety's pecking order. Reminds me of Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing where. Blacks complaining the Koreans are taking over their neighborhood by owning all the variety stores and such but refuse to acknowledge they work hard and long hours which locals may not be willing to do. Maybe this girl was taught Asians are below Muslims

What else would you expect? Let's looks at the main actors:

TDSB: It sounds like a hate crime so they want to absolve themselves of any legal/criminal ramifications so they call the police.
TPS: Police have to release a public search for an asian man dressed in black cutting off hijab in case there's another hate attack.
Media: they pick up on this hate crime cuz it's sensational news. They also have to publicize it in case of public safety.
Politicians: they have to immediately denounce hate crimes cuz it's made headlines all over the world. Protect canada's well earned reputation as being a racial & religious tolerant society.

The publicly funded actors seem to have done their (well-paid) job.
So that leaves the parents of the 11yo girl.

LOL! She was speaking from an elevated stage therefore was looking DOWN, addressing the media scrum BELOW her. Not because she was "unsure of herself".

And I never said she was an accomplished actress, just that she was very composed after experiencing such a harrowing double attack with a scissor-wielding man merely two hours before.

In strict Muslim societies like Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, women are lower than cattle, that's what the face vale represents. Religion is fed by strict ignorance. If she does not conform the young girl will become just another honour killing.

Nope you're wrong. It wasn't an elevated stage, you just assume that because the reporters directly in front are kneeling so their heads are below hers. And when she is looking down during the interview she is looking at her feet, not people in front of her. But carry on.

I'm not sure how you can hold an 11 year old responsible for this.
Young Offenders act does not kick in until 12
No charges are possible at this time

The overall story makes me die laughing though since the left wing elite (university types) all started stocking "emergency hijabs" and telling people how to help those who had their hijab cut off

But it doesn't remind you of the more recent vintage, real world of low income/unemployed White Trump supporters cursing Mexican immigrants for 'stealing' jobs they wouldn't dare touch. Same White Trump supporters who don't even want to work. See also low income White 'leave' Brexiters versus Polish (mainly) and other immigrants.
Not true.

The reason for Trump winning is all the folks in rural USA who voted. They are the ones wanting to work and keep their jobs. That's why they don't want things outsourced. And those blue collar jobs aren't necessarily low income jobs. not saying those are the best kinds of jobs out there, but it pays the bills. So it goes to show there is some integrity out there even to save these kinds of jobs which aren't exactly spectacular or flashy.

Now if Whites really didn't want to work they'd have high unemployment rates. And if you want to see people who "don't even want to work", see below link if you want to see laziness.

According to US statistics, Whites and Asians have the lowest unemployment rates, while Blacks and Latino have the highest.
