I am personally getting the iPhone 8+. X is just too much and I don't like the design.

I like the camera on the iPhone 7. The 8+ will have a small improvement to camera plus 3 gig of RAM decent water proof/resistance and I like the looks of the 8+ vs. X.

The following year I will go back to Samsung if they release something desirable. I really like the 8+ though. I used many Androids and iPhones in the past and I am excited about the 8+ like I was with the 3gs.

I currently have a 5S so I might look into one of the new models or possibly the Pixel 2 when it comes out

What sucks about the iphone's are:

1. you cant change the battery to a higher capacity battery
2. its $1,000 USD.....really?!?!
3. your stuck on whatever APPLE says...

Android all the way, user chooses his own path

big hype over nothing. Way overprice for little improvement. I'll keep using my +2.5 year old Samsung.

I have some sort of iPhone 5 I bought used a few years ago. It always works. That's all I ask.
The only improvement would be if they introduced one that made my coffee in the morning. I'm not holding my breath!

A question concerning this facial recognition for those who sometimes party all night.
Will you're phone remember you in the morning?

That's an awful lot of money for a phone. I have the i7, 128. With AppleCare and tax it was 1400.
I'd need the 256g, I have 85 Gb music, it's my iPod for the car.
So, 1529, plus 200 for AppleCare with tax is 1,953.77
And I'd only get about 500 for a used i7 ?

Maybe, if we talk the world out of buying it, Apple would realize they've priced themselves out of the market and lower thier price point? But all the hype is what they count on. So, it's not overpriced if it sells well.
How about I wait a year and a bit and buy a used one?

Although you gotta admit this facial recognition feature is really impressive...the fact that it can scan and recognize your face in ms.

This is exciting and frightening at the same time. I don't know about security with this feature bit I don't feel comfortable having a device that can do this, even though you can probably turn it off, we all know everything is hackable.

However this animoji feature clearly shows how powerful this technology is hidden in a fun little innocent poop emoji thingie...lol

As a technology enthusiast I can respect this milestone in tech evolution.

The screen of iphone 10 is inferior because of 2 reason:
1) It can go 652 nits while s8+ can go 1000 nits and note 8 can go 1200 nits. The display is made by Samsung and it's their lowest tiers oled panel. This will directly affect the viewing experience in daylight.
2) Top notch area will look ugly in the full-screen mode. Particularly in watching videos. Although the screen is 5.8 inches diagonally the viewing area is less than that. ( from apple website)

Given how obsessed Apple is with their display experience I'd question that it will be anything but spectacular.

I'm going to wait and see, if someone can find some cool uses for it other than unlocking the phone and animated emojis and the screen looks great then I'll jump. Otherwise I'll stick with my 7+

Yeah, that's a little pricey. I would imagine the cost would be less on a 2 year plan. I got my iPhone 7 Plus 128GB with 2 year Rogers plan including 2 years AppleCare for $679 plus HST from Costco. Not a bad deal considering the price of the new phones!

That would bug the hell out of me.

Exactly. I can't imagine it would be worse than the 7 Plus which is already spectacular.

Pretty much every top end phone is in that range. Google tried the mid market with a couple of their nexus phones but the later nexus and pixels are still running a grand CDN. Sadly it's what the market will bare. Cheapest high end phone I'm aware of is oneplus.

Guys watch this. This guy is a fanboy but he decided to do a video: 10 reasons not to buy iphone x
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJuqdTXhDX4

He talked about the display, its brightness, and other stuffs.
As with most iPhones, each new model seems to be better than than the last. I'm not getting it with the 10. The 8 Plus looks like a better phone than the 10 if you need to upgrade.
