Is unfortunate that divisive groups try to hijack this successful, friendly and inclusive event. Will BLM be walking in the parade again?

I also don't think the majority of the gays support excluding the cops and I can't see most of the population supporting this.
Really - I thought it would be the BLM since they are the ones unwilling to reach out.
I can't understand why a straight cop would want to be in pride? They do know it's a gay event right?
The whole thing is supposed to be inclusionary.
Excluding any legitimate group of citizens is not.
COPs are also citizens.
Our Mayor needs to grow a pair.
Therefore the city should pull its funding,complimentary security, cleanup services & let Pride pay for all of it.

I guarantee you most cops are thrilled they dont have to act like they want to participate in that nonsense anymore

The Pride Parade got started due to police brutality in the 60's and 70's. It was perceived for the public good, let's face it, gays are not exactly a beloved community. Since that time LE and the community came to an understanding and the police took part. Yes Tory should grow a pair, but not to exact financial reprisals against the event. That would affirm what The Economist has been writing about, that Canada has an aggressive far right fringe. On this case BLM is dead wrong, Tory should mediate not punish.

Im surprised the gay community would want any men to "pull out" regardless of their profession.
If this has to do with BLM, oh for the love of god put that groupf protesters in front of a firing squad. Make it an annual event and call it Old Yeller day.

Governments caving into to every tiny extremely vocal special interest group time after time has given rise to push back from the majority of people who are sick and tired of being told time after time that they are rapists, or racists, or gender bigots or capitalists, or whatever. Take your pick.
I'm all for equal rights for everyone, but not special rights for a few vocal left wing extremists.
If the Pride people want to tell the cops that they are not welcome, I guess sadly that is their right. But the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario should withdraw all funding based on discrimination. Simple as that.
