We will see how good of a manager Gibby is, your bang on Francona is a very good manager that knows how to manage his pull pen.Indians have a good bull pen and they have good hitters. The hitters can feast on the Jays bull pen. They blew the Jays bull pen last time they played. Jays lost to them in the 19th inning. And Terry Francona is a very good manager. He knows how to setup his rotations and bull pen very well.
JB batted about .225 this year and was injured for about 1/2 the season and he is in his mid 30's. Even the Dodgers and Sox aren't that nuts.
It's possible that JB could rebound. Or it's possible that he will decline and retire in a year or two. Only time will tell. I think it's doubtful that he will be the superstar he was 3 or 4 years ago again.
OTOH, EE is money right now!!!
Sounds like you know what your talking about....baby_blueThe Dodgers knows that JB will give them 25-35 HR and 60-90 RBI every year. Like I mentioned, the dodgers will threw whatever money if they get an edge to win. That is their culture for the last 50 years. They are paying Kershaw over 32 million dollar a year.
Thanks! You sound pretty astute about the game yourself.Sounds like you know what your talking about....baby_blue
Cubs leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second. Tough pitching staff and there pen has some guy who can throw somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 or more, wow try and catch up to that fast ball. Thanks! You sound pretty astute about the game yourself.
I like Gibby but I don't think he is strategic enough. He panic and made some questionable calls. This my opinion, I think Liriano should be the 4 starter for the Jays instead of Stromen. I think they should do a Liriano/stroman combination. Let Liriano pitch 5 to 6 innings or in 7th if his pitch count is low. Then bring in Stromen to pitch the 6-7-8 inning. Of course bring in Osuna to save the game if they jays are ahead. We will see how good of a manager Gibby is, your bang on Francona is a very good manager that knows how to manage his pull pen.
Imagine if Joe Madden was managing the Jays. IMHO I think he's a great manager but has nothing to show for itThanks! You sound pretty astute about the game yourself.
Do you mean Stroman pitch 5-6 innings because Liriano is in the penI like Gibby but I don't think he is strategic enough. He panic and made some questionable calls. Looks like a Cub sweep of the Giants.Cubs leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second. Tough pitching staff and there pen has some guy who can throw somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 or more, wow try and catch up to that fast ball.
I would start my swing as the catcher is throwing the ball back to Chapman and I still would whiff lol
Sorry, I meant to say allow Liriano to pitch 1-5 or 6 depends on the situation and his pitch count. And Stroman would take over and pitch.Do you mean Stroman pitch 5-6 innings because Liriano is in the pen
Best of 7 would be too long for the players. It will be very good for the owners though...more ticket and beer sells. If the Cubs hang on 3 of the 4 playoff rounds will be a sweep. I certainly didn't see that coming. I'm sure it will revive the debate for best-of-7 vs. best-of-5.
Maybe reduce the number of regular season games and expand the playoffs. I heard the players want a smaller regular season.Best of 7 would be too long for the players. It will be very good for the owners though...more ticket and beer sells.
Yes, that would work. Instead of playing 162 games, they could play only 155 and expand the playoffs.Maybe reduce the number of regular season games and expand the playoffs. I heard the players want a smaller regular season.
I will be totally shocked if JB gets anything more than 70 million, but all it takes is one team to think they are one player away from going deep into the play-offs and they will over pay to get that player, just ask Zack GrienkeBoston threw 217 million dollar for Price. I could see JB getting 125 million dollar for 6 years from the Dodgers. I know JB wants to be in a contender team. Also, Alex Antopoulos is in the dodgers organization. He knows to attract JB to join the Dodgers.
True. The argument always has been the better team is more likely to prevail in a best-of-7 as opposed to the hotter team in a short series.Best of 7 would be too long for the players. It will be very good for the owners though...more ticket and beer sells.
