former Jay, Jose Reyes, designated for assignment. He is owed approximately 34 million U.S. dollars. Rockies look to be on the hook for his salary
Boy, did we make the right trade with that one :applouse:

The Jay's better make it interesting this year. I have tickets to the Jays game at Fenway Park on the second last day of the season. If those games are meaningful this will be incredible. Saturday, October 1st. Never been to Boston before.

Another complete game. Marco was great as usual. Some contribution from Goins and Travis, and of course EE hits another HR and scores 3 runs. The big test is taking tomorrows game to win 3 of 4 from the lowly Phils. A split of 4 games would be a fail.

I hope that game is meaningless since we would have a 4-6 game lead. Maybe it could be meaningful for Boston trying to get the last WC spot. And we could eliminate them and crush their hearts.

With the new one game WC playoff, I really want the Jays to take the Div outright.

Like Dawgger basically said, if you're gonna be an 88 mph finesse pitcher you had better have pinpoint control, and a good mix of pitches. Diamond unfortunately has neither:
Absolutely correct, but therein lies the problem. You made a blanket statement about 88 MPH without mentioning that there are other factors involved.

They're facing a pretty good pitcher tonight and have scored 4 runs so far, usually good pitching usually shuts down good hitting, should be 5-0 if not for the bone head call reversal of play at second base.

Absolutely brutal call on Pillars slide into 2nd. He adhered to all elements of the new takeout slide rule so they made up a new interpretation. Wow.
Hope that doesn't cost us the game.

Can you imagine a call reversal like this one in game 7 of WS and the cancelled run costing a team the championship?

3 of 4 from the lowly Phils is good. JB stubbing his toe and generally playing bad defence suggests he and EE should take turns at DH. Play Carrera or Smoak depending on the hotter bat. He limped off pretty bad, hope it's not broken.

I was pretty critical of Martin and Goins cuz they sucked so bad for the first 40-50 games. But they have turned it around so gotta give them credit.

Onto the Orioles.

JB is on the decline, he is in twilight of career. His WAR this season is only 0.6, in contrast JD is 2nd overall in the Majors at 3.72, only Clayton Kershaw is ahead of him.

So with JB out of the lineup, it really doesn't hurt the team.

Certainly looks like EE would be the better player to keep.
