The car in the pic was just an example. The answer is : GM gave away 10,000 Escalades when it was introduced. The vehicle is merely a Chevrolet Suburban tarted up. The gave the vehicles to stars in the movie and TV business as well as music stars free so that people would associate the vehicle with wealth and stardom. Most of these free Escalades we quickly given away or sold by the stars. Only the minor stars like rappers kept the vehicles because they were obligated to use the Escalades daily and had to return them after the 5 year agreement.
