Explaining (a bullshit) root cause without showing even a hint of remorse is justification in my books.

Terrorism's root lies in people who think attacking civilians is an acceptable method of getting their way.
I agree with your last comment.

However, the young terrorists are being reminded of historical U.S. foreign intervention into the affairs of Middle Eastern countries (Shah of Iran as one example, or the phony war in Iraq as a more recent one). Even if there's no justification for killing innocents, they can capitalize on American foreign policy blunders to make the U.S. look bad and fuel the fires. Osama Bin Laden even blamed the U.S. for exploiting their oil resources (perhaps, but the ruling Arab royal autocrats also benefited). This is their perception.

It is the price we pay for oil, quite frankly it is a good deal for the west. Cheap oil saves more western lives and increases the standard of living more than terrorism is a detriment to.

The West has inserted itself into a sectarian war that's been going on for centuries.... It's only Totalitarian regimes that keep it under control, this is why the MB was taken out in Egypt, this is why Lybia has descended into chaos after Gaddaffi....

This happen now in Brussels because the just arrested the Paris mastermind there. Tit for tat.
Well said.

The propaganda many of them get indoctrinated with may currently be about the 'evils' of the West but without the West there would still be plenty of other excuses. Take a look at all the terror attacks in Iraq after Saddam fell. They weren't targeting the west but were simply settling older scores in the same sectarian conflict that even pre-dated the Ottoman Empire.

Correct too.

It may certainly be that the old foreign policy blunders are simply used as propaganda, but as Henry Kissinger pointed out, the real new threat is Islamic Fundamentalist Extremism.

In any vent, the secular and civilized world need to sock to these terrorists and stamp it out forever.

Belgium- I bet this SOB or his friends had something to do with it. He says no Muslim is a true Muslim if he doesn't believe or practice sharia. He predicted what happened today in Belgium.

I'm so happy I was able to visit Europe years ago.
It was beautiful and charming. Great memories.
But it's over now. Europe is done, it's gone, write it off.
The infestation by filthy pigs is beyond stopping.
They breed like cockroaches.
The big concern now should be about who cares enough to stop it from happening here?
Mark Steyn called it. He coined the term Eurabia back in 2006. People called him a kook and a racist. I bet many of them want to retract their statement now. Scary shit. Goes to show you that political correctness and liberal/socialist policies are harmful to your health. Why Obama and now Sanders/Clinton want to take the US down that road is beyond comprehension.

Jihad has been ongoing for 1,500 years. Trying to blame the U.S. is ridiculous.
Rubbish.

The Ottoman Empire quashed it for over 500 years. After its demise in 1918, and after Great Britain and France divvied up the spoils (Sykes Picot), despots installed by Western powers (Great Britain, France, US) to rule over their 'interests' kept a lid on it. Then the secularism of Egypt's Gamal Abdel Nasser made it irrelevant. Then came the oppression and poverty, plus (our close and trusted ally) Saudi Arabia's spreading of its own fundamentalist Wahhabism throughout the world, brainwashing young impressionable kids into becoming violent Jihadists.

The US plotted to overthrow the elected Iraninan PM Mossadegh in 1954 because he wanted to nationalize British petroleum interests . Ironically, the British were replaced by US oil companies. They replaced Mossadeh with the Shah, and helped him maintain an oppressive police state with the US trained Savak secret police. That pressure cooker blew up with the Iranian revolution that was then highjacked by the clerics. Then the Iran Iraq war with Saddam (installed by the CIA) goaded by the US into attacking Iran (enemy of the US).

Then Saddam turning against Kuwait because the latter were slant drilling for oil inside Iraq, plus the Emir of Kuwait told Saddam to go fuck himself when the latter asked for long promised compensation for protecting Arabia against the Persians. That set the seed for the current turmoil.

Saddam was then villified thanks to a brilliant PR campaign in the US, financed by the deposed Ruler of Kuwait (babies dumped out of incubators, witnessed by the daughter of the Kuwaiti embassador who happened to be in the US at the time). The US then set its sights on Iraq and destabilised its multi ethnic and multi confessional status under the false pretext that they had WMD and were involved in 911. Not only that, but the US proconsul Paul Bremer then decided to disband the largely Sunni Iraqi Army, instantly creating 500,000 unemployed Sunni men, now armed and angry, and then discriminated by their very own Shiite majority, thanks to US stooge PM Maliki. That was the seed for the creation of ISIS.

This mess thanks to the greatest foreign policy blunder ever made by a US administration: Dubya's invasion of Iraq under false pretenses. 3 trillion dollars spent that resulted in 4500 US service persons killed, and over 1 million Iraqis dead, all for nothing, plus the creation ISIS.

And that's not all. Hilary Clinton decided that Assad would easily go, and when he didn't, undertook the destabilisation of Syria through the funding and arming of terrorist groups either directly (Free Syrian Army) or through its proxies Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, of al-Qaida/Jabhat Al Nusra and ISIS. The US ambassador to Libya was killed while arranging the transfer of weapons from Libya's vast stores to Syria to fuel the foreign jihadists there.

So no. It didn't happen because they've been fighting each other for 1500 years. It happened because of foreign western interference in the region that dates back to at least a century. The blowback is ISIS, plus millions of refugees undermining the very fabric of Europe as a result of fleeing war caused by the West because it just can't keep its hands off ME oil.

There is at least two (maybe more) interpretation of jihad.

The one favoured by some, many, most, almost all Muslims is:

"Jihad is the promotion and expansion of Islam by all means available, including violence."

It's too bad none of us have a time machine.

If we did, I'd bet any of you all the money I have that in the years 2100, 2200, 2300 etc..... all this Islamic terrorist stuff will still be going. Even if Terminator 2 became reality and robots are taking over the world, they'd still be at it.

I said it in an old thread and I'll say it again, people born in that region are surrounded by violence, propaganda and weirdos. So like it or not, many are basically born to fight. Through thick and thin, aggression is always a risk. Even during normal times, there's always a certain kind of "loudness". People yelling and such.

The happy go lucky Western thinking is that if we all open our arms and share the love (and taxpayer money), that all these people will change, walk away from their troubled past and enjoy Western society by blending in with everyone else. Everyone gets educated, gets a job and it's one big happy family.

Maybe in a Disney movie that happens where it's always a happy ending. Not true in real life.

Don't get me wrong. Nothing wrong with letting in immigrants. Western societies have a big history of people coming and going. But the key is you have be smart about it. Politicians typically don't care because having open arms makes for good PR. No Western politician wants an image of being a grump.

And when trouble happens they typically are nowhere close to the action. Their big house or parliament building is somewhere else in the city or country. And it's guarded well anyway. So the safety risk is low. You'll never see any social assistance places anywhere near the nice government buildings.

You'll win the bet. Why would the next 300 years be any different than the past 1,500 years? When they can't beat you mano a mano, they resort to terrorism.

Charles Martel beat them in battle and that saved Europe, until now.
The Sikhs beat them and save India from being entirely Islamic.
The Philippines was saved by the Spanish.
The Jews beat them and saved Israel.
The Atlantic Ocean saved the Americas, until now.

Persia could not be saved.
North Africa could not be saved.
Turkey could not be saved.
Indonesia could not be saved.
Afghanistan and Pakistan.

And yet the European Union wants to open the door to hundreds of thousands of Muslim immigrants. The fastest way to destroy Europe is unlimited immigration by people who are hostile to Western values.
