They can do front and crown in the same operation, patients usually have a second procedure to add more density. Some patients just leave the crown bald because they have a large area to cover at the front with limited donor hair and the crown is less cosmetically important than front area.
You have also to be aware that hair loss is progressive and you may need to save some donor hair to cover future bald spots behind the transplanted area
Thats true but I already was a Norwood 7 so I couldnt slip down much further

I have been reading this forum, I recommend to check the sub-forum results posted by patients instead of the sub forum results posted by clinics. The results posted by patients are more real than the ones posted by clinics for marketing purpose
But the before/after pictures dont lie.

I realize of course Rahal only shows his best results, but any company would do that. Why show your worst results, thats career suicide

Seriously? If there was a legit "cure" out there, I can assure you that whoever makes it would have bought 50% of the TV spots available out there. It would be bigger than Viagra!
That's exactly right. I tried to tell her how silly her claims were but she was convinced because one of her "doctors" sold her on it.

As i understand it, the best way to tell your future/current hair loss is the men on your mother's side of your family, especially her father but also his brothers/uncles.
Anecdotally, this makes sense (Trudeau is a great example).
My maternal grandfather had copious amounts of hair until the day he died and I've been very, very fortunate to keep almost all of mine. Ditto my brother. My father on the other hand started losing in his 30s. He's not bald or anything but it's also tough to tell his lineage using the same method because his mother's father (my grand-father) was killed in world war at 31, so we'll never know how much hair he was going to lose. His lone brother also died young in an accident.
Food for thought: my dad tried Rogain in his 40s. It worked but he stopped because he started getting headaches and had the niggling sense that "something wasn't right".

I have used Rogaine for about 15 months in the past and had to stop because I suddenly started to get headaches. Still have two full cans to give away to whom ever wants to try it.
I haven't seen any positive results though. I am currently at hair club for the past nine months with a minute positive microscopic results so far.
Hair club is a combination of treatments which I think $2500 is really too expensive.
The best option though is the transplant. A friend of mine is currently in South East Asia doing a transplant.

You guys are clueless. I've seen good transplants in person. There's no tricks or concealers going on. Do a bit more research before spouting your conspiracy theories, please

I'm not saying that hair transplants don't work, it improve your appearance , I mean going from not having any hair at all to have a good coverage and a new hairline/frame, but there is no way it gives you a thick teenager hair as you see in the pictures posted by clinics. There will be still some see-through especially under strong light
Okay, I see what you're saying now. Yes that is true, but that also varies from person to person. If you have light blonde hair and white skin its much less noticable then on somebody who has black hair and white skin.

Also having curly hair is a huge plus, because the hair piles on top of each other

There is a trick movie stars use, hair of sheep cut up into small pieces (then colored) have an ionized charge that makes it stick to your own hair for a fuller look and will stay there until washed out

This product can be bought at any hair store for women

Here's a case of someone who you absolutely couldnt tell he's thinning or had a HT. Even under strong light.
He only got 5,000+ grafts, although he did have high hair density.

Just goes to show how far the technology has come in last 15 years:

I don't trust pics/videos posted by clinics , the ones posted by patients are more accurate .. With 5000 grafts it's impossible to cover such large area with high density.
Let's do the maths: 5000 grafts give an average of 10,000 hairs ( a graft consists of 1 , 2 or 3 hairs) . A teenager has 100, 000 hairs in average. A norwood 6 lost 50% of his hair ( 50, 000 hairs)
So you need to cover that area with 50,000 hairs but you have only 10,000 hairs. So the maximum density you can achieve with 5000 grafts is only 20% of your original density
Nope, you're wrong and here's why. I made the same assumption you did a few years ago until somebody explained things to me:

The average head has approximately 100,000 hairs. The back, and both sides on most people have about 75,000 hairs. Some have more, and some have less, but thats about the average.

What happens when they do transplants is they move hair from back and sides towards the top and the crown.
So you say you can only move some transplanted hairs from there, and thats true.

But what you do is when you thin the donor hair from 75,000 hairs towards the donor recipient area, you are also actually thickening the front, midscalp and crown, but you're also thinning the back of the head which is good.

Reason why its good because you're now creating an even balance of the thickness between the back, top and front of the scalp-hairs.

Does that make sense??

The front , mid-scalp and crown area ( affected by NW6 hair loss) covers more than 50% of your total area that was covered when you were teenager.so you need more than 50, 000 hairs to get a teenager density. How are you going to achieve this with only 5000 grafts/10, 000 hairs ? That's why the clinics posting after pictures of Norwood 6 getting back all of his teenager hair are cheating
You're right in that only so much donor hair can cover a bald head. But thats only if you're extracting the same amount of density hairs per square centimeter (hairs per sq/cm). There's something called "Density illusion". What that means a regular person will have around 200 hairs per square centimeter (or something like that). But you only need half that amount to create "Density illusion".

Ha!!!!!!!!! :D

What the best hair transplants in the world do (and there's only about 20 or 30 of them in the world), is create a "density illusion". What that entails you only need to have 75 to 100 hairs per (cm2). Unless you're looking up VERY close, nobody can tell the difference.

See my last video. There's no way (unless you're looking very closely) anyone can tell
