You are correct, it is the shakers and not the Quakers. They believe that the have to shake their hands to be Pius, Their interpretation of the bible is that idle hands are the devil's workshop means that they must shake their hands. Just as some other believe that to be devoted to God you must take up serpents. Evidently there are a few shakers left in the State of Maine.
