R Kelly, Biggy - Be Happy

Fav R Kelly album and fav song off that album. "Smokin blunts on the veranda with Amanda, she's fillin' your head with he said she said Poppa doin' this, Poppa doin' that. But don't tell him I said it or my jeep might get wetted."

Young and Company - I Like What You're Doing To Me

Ah the sample to DJ Quik's Dollaz and Sense. Classic. I had this record but sadly it's gone MIA.

Glenn Lewis is Canadian. He had some success. I think he's under-rated.
Loved Glenn Lewis back in the day. Did he ever do a collab with Deborah Cox? That would have been fitting. Don't You Forget it was his most well known song but I loved this joint even more - I had a fresh remix of this on a mixtape which of course I can't find anymore :(

#88 The Bridge refers to Queensbridge an area of Queens borough that produced a bevy of rappers including Nas and Mobb Deep. This record prompted a response from Bronx's Boogie Down Productions who released The Bridge Is Over.

#87 People actually thought he was real but Humpty Humph is actually a fictional character created by Digital Underground's lead rapper Shock G. Digital Underground is of course where 2Pac got his start. Sick bass line on this one.

#86 don't agree with this one but oh well. JD (Jermaine Dupri) was an Atlanta producer and rapper. Better known for finding R&B and hip hop acts Jagged Edge, XScape, Da Brat and Kris Kross he started his own record label So So Def Recordings in the early 90's.

#85 Only 14 years old when she rapped this, pretty impressive. I love some of the disses on this one. Rap machismo done by a female for the first time.

#84 This was the song #85 responded to. U.T.F.O. stands for Untouchable Force Organization in case you were curious :)

#83 Pretty raunchy lyrics but gotta give credit to Too $hort - he spits for almost 10 minutes. Pretty rare for 1987.

#82 - from 1995's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx one of my ATF albums. This was the most popular track from the album but not close to the best in my opinion. Cappadonna's the knucklehead reppin a Habs jersey, what a joker.

#81 the final track from arguably the best hip hop album of all time, Illmatic. Can't argue against this one - I mean anything that samples Human Nature gotta be good, right? Large Professor killed it on the production - that sax is ridiculous!
