BOOBS!!!!
They are not full-auto assault rifles, they are semi-automatic assault rifles.

You need a special permit for a full-auto assault rifle (which is basically a machine-gun)
Getting the special permit is almost impossible.

I'm talking about this baby...which is actually perfectly legal in Canada. It's the ones that are 20 inches or shorter that are illegal because they're concealable.

From RCMP's website:
Crossbows that can be aimed and fired with one hand and crossbows with an overall length of 500 mm or less are prohibited. You cannot lawfully possess or acquire a prohibited crossbow.
You do not need a valid license or registration certificate to possess any other type of bow, including a crossbow that is longer than 500 mm and that requires the use of both hands. Criminal Code provisions making it an offense to acquire a crossbow without a valid license were never brought into force.

This looks awesome.

I didnt cite it as an authority, I cited it show you what a slang word (or slang phrase) looks like. …
Or, in other words, as an authority. Even older farts than I have Facebook pages, to say nothing of people with all sorts of intellectual, social and developmental issues such as you seem to struggle with. That makes it as weak an authority for "…how young people talk" as that is any justification for using words like 'nigger', 'kike', 'retard' and the like as insults.

When did it become a virtue for adults to ape immature infants?

I am starting to think that AK-47 might just be a wannerbee that does not even have any assault rifles. ( Just saying you do can get you into a barrel of shit ) Let us see if he can tell us :

- The origins ( country of manufacture ) of his assault rifles.
- The brand name on the barrel of the weapon.
- The caliber of ammunition it takes.
- The number of bullets that can be loaded into the ammo clip.
- The cost of ammunition for his assault weapons.

Some where in Cyber Space
AK-47 are illegal in Canada (both semi and full auto versions)

If you are a Canadian who wants to posess one, you are mostly out of luck these days. There are those lucky few who have been grandfathered in, but this fine firearm is prohibited. By its barrell length and action, the AK-47 would actually be a non-restricted gun in Canada (if it is modified to semi- auto), but the government has specifically made it prohibited. Generally, this is due to the public stigma and war images from around the world.

Buy or Sell

We will not be able to buy or sell the AK-47 or its variants (AK-74, AK-74SU or the AKM in Canada) in Canada due to it's prohibited status.

Notice that the pic in the above post is back lit so that details can be obscured. The end of the muzzle is not in to pic so that you will not see that it is a pellet gun sight.

1) The ventilation slots are filled in. On a real AK-47 these slots are necessary to cool the barrel especially in a sustained fire situation.

2) On real AK-47 rifles the spring housing is angular.

3) The butt stock taper is too angular

4) There is no safety - trigger release

5) The grip is made of molded plastic, on a real AK-47 it is a simple rounded wood grip.

6) ( I just noticed ) There is no slight taper at the rear sight.

7) The body of the mechanism housing does not seem as substantial as in a real AK-47

They are not full-auto assault rifles, they are semi-automatic assault rifles.

You need a special permit for a full-auto assault rifle (which is basically a machine-gun)
The AK-47's shown in you link to Marstar are full-auto and are not, and cannot be sold to the PAL licensed public.

Although semi-auto AK-47's look scary to some of the public, they are not assault rifles if they cannot fire full-auto. Despite appearances, a semi-auto AK-47 has no more capability or firepower than an SKS, which shoots the same ammo and is classified as non-restricted.

Semi-auto AK-47's are on the prohibited list, because they were classified that way in 1995 by politicians attempting to ban scary guns.

AR-15's (or civilian M-16 derivative) are not assault rifles because they cannot fire fully-automatic. Looks have nothing to do with it, except in the minds of the gun grabbers. They are classed as restricted, meaning they have to be registered, can only be owned by Restricted PAL holders and can only be used on an approved range (no hunting allowed), subject to an 'Authorization To Transport' issued by the Provincial Police.

You cannot own a full-auto firearm in Canada unless you owned it and had it registered continuously since 1998 and have had a valid Prohibited PAL with 12(2) endorsement since 2002. Even then, you can't take it out of the house (get an Authorization To Transport) unless you want to dispose of it or take it to a gunsmith. You cannot legally shoot it... anywhere.

They do not issue new Prohibited PAL's to the general public, unless a prohibited firearm under 12(6) (prohibited pistols) is passed along in a will.

This info is for readers here who may have gotten confused with our firearms law.

You are technically correct.
But I call it an assault rifle anyways because it sounds kinda cool.

Actually, it looks like a Czech Arms VZ-58. They are semi-automatic and non-restricted (depending on barrel length). The magazine is pinned to 5 rounds and do not need to be registered.... Although the RCMP wants to probibit them because they look scary. They shoot the same ammo as an AK-47, but also the same as the non-restricted SKS. The 7.62 x 39 is a medium power round with a maximum effective range of 400 meters, so is definitely not a 'high powered' rifle.

They are not AK-47 variants, as the internal parts are not interchangeable and are completely different. They cannot be made to shoot full auto unless the internal parts are redesigned.
