I own 2 assault rifles.

What makes you say its expensive??
Bullets are cheap, and membership at a shooting range isnt that expensive either

9mm is approx 0.30 a bullet = 3.00 a clip

.45 acp is approx 0.50 a bullet = 5.00 a clip

That can quickly add up when shooting. Many won't shoot .45 due to the cost.

So IMHO it's expensive. But damn fun.

Umm, do you understand the licencingn process.

Everyone with a POL, PAL, or RPAL is in the RCMP's datatbase as owners
Yes, but you're in that database whether you own an assault rifle or just a regular hunting rifle. CeilingDummy's post insinuated only owners of assualt rifles are on govt radar.

Then again I dont speak retard, so who knows what he meant

Because he knows what he's talking about?

Bullets ain't cheap. This time last year I was picking up 5,000 round cases of CCI mini mags for $320 plus tax. Now you are looking at $500 if you can find it.
CCI Standard Velocity was $374 six months ago. Now the going price is $499 for 5,000.
Boxes of 1120 Norinco 5.56 were $299 plus shipping and taxes. Now you're looking at $400. American Eagle .223 is at least 50 cents a round.
I just bought an Aimpoint PRO because I saw the prices moving from $462 to $550.
I just barely got a Timney 510 trigger before the run on them at the old price because it was already in Canada.

Most firearms stuff comes from the U.S., so things are going to be 20% more expensive by the end of the year.

Guns are cheap. Ammo is expensive.

I guess its all relative to how much money you make, poorboy.
I dont find bullets all that expensive, but then again I dont shoot more than 1,000/month.

I find golf to be a much more expensive hobby

Yes you are in the RCMP database when you have registered for your PAL . If you purchase any type of restricted weapon you are registered for that weapon . Now for a hunting rifle or shot gun there is no data base kept to see what you have bought . Long gun registry is gone . Maybe the store contacts the LE or government boys when you buy a long gun, I don't really know . They are not supposed to .

You could buy a long gun from anyone if they you both have a PAL . Government boys can't trace that . Just because someone has a PAL doesn't mean that they own any guns . If you wanted to hunt for example you could borrow your buddies gun as long as you have a PAL.

Belonging to a gun club can be kind of expensive depending how much you go there . The one that I know of charges $300 a year and it's all outdoors. They're all deferent . A trap club or skeet club can have different dues . If you shoot a lot of sheet or trap you still have to pay for your shells ( or load your own ) and the birds that you shoot at . Ten years ago a round of skeet was about $3.50 , don't know about now . It would have been about $10 for a round of skeet or trap . 4 rounds ( $40 ) wasn't bad for a few hours of enjoyment outside with your buddies .
