We don't do ourselves any favours by pretending Hitler was something less than he was.
He was a corporal-messenger in the German army. He twice won the iron cross for b**********y. ( bestiality? ) He was wounded three times, including being (temporarily) blinded by mustard gas.
"Messenger" doesn't sound like much of a role now, but in WW1 it was vital and dangerous. Not that "cook" wasn't an important job, but Hitler wasn't a cook.
If it wasn't your agenda to show up Hitler as a weak coward keeping out of the way while doing a trivial job, I apologise. But it quacks . .
