Apache Burgers (Dundas & Kipling) -- Banquet is my go-to old school burger
Magoo's (Royal York & Dundas) -- why go to Lick's?
Woody's (Brownsline & Lakeshore) -- wood grill, great options, hate the wait time especially with the smell of burgers sizzling on the grill
Organic Big Burger (Brownsline) -- pretty impressed with this place
Great Burger Kitchen (on Church south of Front) -- happy accident, glad I stumbled on to this place
C & Dubbs (Dundas, east of Dixie) -- miss the old place, but still good (the fries were my reason for going)

More research:
The Works -- tried it once, pretty good, so many choices on the menu -- requires further research :)
Jumbo Burger (Runnymede & Dundas) -- old school burger greasy spoon, keep hearing about it, may take the plunge soon

McDonald's at Jane and Rutherford.
The Big Mac is to die for.
The service is so so, but the special sauce is worth the trip.

Yes they do, and all they do is make burgers so why the fuck can't they cook mine medium rare, the way I order it. Everybody raves about this place but I've been there 5 times and it's always well done or raw, never the way I order it. And what's with the 5 minutes to place my order and a 20+ minute wait to get my burger and fries? All they do is burgers!!! Gave them 5 chances, place sucks IMHO, never going back!

I'm a regular at Apache and Magoo's (in my part of town), but I haven't tried Jumbo Burger which isn't too far away.

The Yellow Griffin Pub on Bloor near Runnymede has a good burger.

Magic Spot at Royal York and Dundas is old school, but okay.

has anyone been to Dairy Freeze at St Clair West and Caledonia. This is an old school burger that is sure to please your taste buds. Been going here since I was a young lad.
Not big on all the new style burger joints with all the seasoning in the meat.
Known about it for years. Yes, another good place.

As a result of this thread, had an Apache burger the other day, and for a very large $5.00 cheeseburger on a real bun, it can't be beat and the ring 'are' amazing. Not like the quarter pounder I had yesterday, because everyone else wanted to go to McDonalds. What a piece of tasteless pulp.

Will Apache cook your burger medium-rare?

Finally ended up trying Burger Priest on Queensway and was pleasantly surprised. The palce was buzzing, very loud with all the talking +cool music and people coming in and out. The burgers are unique and tasty. As to the best burger palce, will need to try it couple more times to confirm but for sure on top of my list. Looks like these guys have many locations now.
