I don't think "The New Avengers" qualified as a spin off, it was a sequel to the original.

TNA was shot right here in Toronto for a few episodes.
I agree with you, but Cat has been including sequels as "spinoffs" in his earlier spinoff questions: i.e. Return of the Saint, New Love American Style, etc.

A loose definition of a spin of is when a TV program is derived from a previous show with some story line and/or some of the previous actors. An example of a spin off is The Saint (1962–1969) with Roger Moore, in Return of the Saint (1978–1979)
he is replaced by Ian Ogilvy taking over the role Simon Templar, and because the story line is continued this show is a spin off.

In Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards have later short lived shows with no connection to Seinfeld in plot or character, therefore it is not a spin-off.
