I absolutely loved the end of the game. Carlyle is making a statement that they will no longer take that crap from anyone, you want to put your tough guy headhunting on our guy (Grabo), then I'll put out my guys McLaren and Orr and go after your guys. Loved how Orr then went after Plekanac, then went after Gionta, then knocked Bourque on his ass with one punch, then McLaren laughing his ass off while Gorges was trying to fight him. Kudos to McLaren trying not to kill him, he was holding back having a laugh, it was like a little kid trying to fight an adult.

Combine that with the 3 new big men on defense, Kostka, Holzer, Fraser, Leafs are way tougher to play against than they were last year.

The lockout was good for the team, it allowed Carlyle to see what they had on the Marlies. If not for the lockout, those 3 d-men and Kadri would very likely still be on the Marlies, and Connolly would likely have stayed up with the Leafs.

To early to speculate but if its a long term injury the Leafs will be pressed to make a move. Scrivens is not a #1. On a good point I'm lovin JVR so far.

Not to complain, but still allowing too many shots on goal. Good to see everybody, including Colton Orr, are scoring goals.

Something is really whacky in Leaf land.

On a Saturday night, in the Montreal forum, Colton Orr goes on a rush, he actually looks pretty good, takes a back hand shot, and the defense-man Holzer following the play buries the rebound.

The bench was shocked. The forum crowd was shocked. Even announced Bob Cole was shocked. I know I was shocked. I had to watch the reply to make sure it was these two guys who teamed up for the goal. Unbelievable. Where was this Colton Orr all this time? Then tonight, that's how Lupal would play in front of the net. Their gonna to nickname Orr - Joffery pretty soon.

Some of these Leafs players are playing their best hockey in their career. The kids Kadri and Frattin, 2 points each tonight. Bozak is playing his best hockey. Pheneuf looks like he is playing his best hockey as a Leaf. Franson looks like a regular, should be a top 4 defenseman if he continues to generate points like that. Riemer, until he got hurt, 7 career shut outs, that is surprising.

The biggest surprise on the Leafs this year, is the back end, the defense has improved with the minor league players back there. They say a NHL defense-man does not really mature and come into his own until they are about 27 years old. Seems to be true with these Leafs. Mark Fraser, looks like a 5th or 6th defense-man, steady not flashy, but he was a +5 tonight. Holzer looks better with every game he plays. Kosta is playing the way we hoped Luke Scheen would have played. JVR going around him and scoring that goal, is what we actually remembered how he played.

Even with Bozak playing so well, Cralsyle has to try this later when Lupal returns. Kessel as the center-man, with JVR and Lupal as the wingers. The best two play makers on this team is Kadri and Kessel. If those three are coming at you, with Kessel carrying the puck, they will get a chance on goal. Will Kessel shoot or pass as both big wingers head for the net. How do you stop that if they get going?

Don't get your hopes up leaf fans. Getting outshot almost every game will catch up to them at some point. As well they seem to be getting all the lucky bounces going their way. At some point things will change and they still won't make the playoffs. After all it's the leafs you're all talking about.

83 SOG against in the last 2 games is concerning. Things can change quickly. Look at San Jose. & straight wins and now 5 straight losses. One good thing is that all 3 lines are scoring so we are not dependent on only 1 or 2 lines.

Carolina tonight.

Will it be a big win(consider the injuries) or will the Leafs 'Staal' ?

I predict the Leafs pull off a surprise win.
Would love to see Kessel have a two goal game.

Go Leafs !

Have the Raptors and Leafs ever been on a 4 game winning streak at the same time ?

Thursday night .... Well that sucked. Not much of an effort in my opinion.
I wanted Jordan Staal to go FA and sign with the Leafs so bad.

Leafs can start another win streak tonight.
While we are on the subject what is with the minor league move by the supposed professional Ottawa NHL organization.
