And your comment notwithstanding , I somehow don't think you would want to tell a non-ex-SP fiancee or wife that you used to see escorts. It may not be cheating per se, but most women still consider it a socially negative behaviour, and likely a dealbreaker.

The truth will come out eventually, better he hear it from her first, for two reasons:
1 - So he can decide whether he can accept that, get over it, and the relationship can move beyond, and
2 - So that if the scenario I just describe DID ever happen, he can run cover for his wife and participate in denying it and convincing Herr Drunk that he's just mistaken her for someone who looks similar
