This happens every few years. It's something like the pet rock of the music world.

It could be worse. You could be listening to this:

This isn't my kind of music but I would rather listen to this than that other crap.

It is sad when high value is place on low or zero talent so people can go and laugh at them. The intelligence level of the human race is in a fast and steady decline.
I was switching through the channels this summer and landed on the Ellen Show. They were talking about this guy ( the guy that was so funny on Americas got Talenet )and he did personal appearances at US mega malls for $100K a week end for about 2 and a half years. He accumlated about $6 million dollars ( talk about the $6 million dollar man ) He is now a Crime Scene Investigator for the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department.

Those of you who are sick of Spy and his gangnam style may soon get their wish.

Apparently Psy was involved in anti-Americanism a few years ago, and its now coming back to haunt him since the US is where he makes the vast majority of his money now.

Talk about karma coming back to bite a hypocrit in the ass....LOL

Does South Korean Rapper PSY Hate America?

PSY has been taking over America with his surprise smash hit “Gangnam Style” but there’s new information on the South Korean pop star that will soon change his popularity among U.S. fans.

It turns out PSY has been involved in several anti-American protest performances. According to Mediaite.com he smashed a model U.S. tank while onstage in 2002 to oppose 37,000 U.S. troops that descended on the Korean Peninsula.

A few years later, PSY cursed Americans after a South Korean missionary was executed. His song “Dear American” sets the record straight.

“Kill those f***ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives/Kill those f***ing Yankees who ordered them to torture/Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers/Kill them all slowly and painfully,” he raps.

PSY is slated to perform for President Obama for a Christmas In Washington special to air on TNT Friday, December 21. As a result, a petition to rescind his invitation has been created by outraged Americans for his anti-American song lyrics.

Looks like PSY’s 15-minutes of fame are just about over

When I first started watching that video, I thought it was great, but i was sick of it before it finished playing the song, and never did listen to the end of it.

Yeah, because no American celebrity has ever come across as against the US government. Ever heard of Sean Penn? Green Day wrote an album called American Idiot. NOFX had an album called The War on Errorism and had a caricature of W on the album art. Don't worry about Psy. He'll be just fine.

Rapping against the war is one thing, rapping about killing American citizens is another

“Kill those f***ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives/Kill those f***ing Yankees who ordered them to torture/Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers/Kill them all slowly and painfully,” he raps
But we'll see, maybe he can survive the whole thing

The vast majority of posters here probably don't even know what it is, let alone being sick of it.

If you don't like it, change the channel, station, website, or use earplugs.
I was going to ask. It would be helpful to know what this 'everybody' of the OP's has been watching and why, just to avoid stumbling into such dreck—it does sound awful—by accident. But the question does arise: What makes the stuff that comes before and after this objectionable bit worth watching either?

Who knew Al Gore invented the internets so people could complain about stuff they chose to watch?

Psy apologizes

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/psy-apologizes-for-anti-american-performances-20121207

"As a proud South Korean who was educated in the United States and lived there for a very significant part of my life, I understand the sacrifices American servicemen and women have made to protect freedom and democracy in my country and around the world. The song I was featured in -- from eight years ago -- was part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two innocent Korean civilians that was part of the overall antiwar sentiment shared by others around the world at that time," the statement read. "While I'm grateful for the freedom to express one's self I've learned there are limits to what language is appropriate and I'm deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted. I will forever be sorry for any pain I have caused anyone by those words."

"I have been honored to perform in front of American soldiers in recent months — including an appearance on the Jay Leno show specifically for them — and I hope they and all Americans can accept my apology," the statement concluded. "While it's important we express our opinions, I deeply regret the inflammatory and inappropriate language I used to do so. In my music I try to give people a release, a reason to smile. I have learned that though music, our universal language we can all come together as a culture of humanity and I hope that you will accept my apology."

He has made his money on the song already. I do not think it will make a big difference now. Here is a real test to see if he and his music will endure. I suspect that his song will be played at every dance club for the next year or two every night. After that you will be hearing it at every high school dance and wedding for at least 10 years. So in the Year 2020, if you hear it at a wedding to get the crowd a riding and a lassoing you will know he is still big.

The secret sauce in this song is that it has a good beat and audience participation.

And outside the US, almost everybody hates the Americans anyways. Its just a song to unify peoples hate against them, and it was years ago, so who really cares.
