Heading to Vegas and I'd like to plan a few good meals. What suggestions do you have for:

1. Steak
2. Mexicana
3. The quintessential Vegas dining experience?

While we're at it, what's the one show no one should miss?

Mesa at ceasers.

Bobby flay is the Chef.

Have the pork tenderloin......thank me later.

Or Anthony's at the Golden Nugget downtown. Reserve..it's an old Vegas steakhouse.

Thank me later on this toO. Talk about Quintessential.

After dinner, walk over to the Vegas supper club for a nightcap....and an experience.

Trust me on this one.

As far as steak goes I like delmonico the best. Cut at the Palazzo was also great, as was SW at the wynn.

sorry I can't help you for mexicana - not my thing.

old school vegas - there is, or used to be, a great place as the plaza downtown. A scene from the movie casino was shot there. I felt it had the real old school vibe.

as far as shows - I've seen most of the cirque shows. IMO the original one - mystere is hands down the best.

The best steak in Vegas is also one of the best in the world. Joel Robichaud. No contest. Have the mashed as a side. Several magazines say it is the best side for a steak n the world.

If you Really want the Best Steak in Las Vegas head to Mon Ami Gabi - inside the Paris Hotel. Get a table on the outdoor patio over looking the Ballagio Fountain - Amazing!!!

I knew I could count on you guys to give me ideas. The only problem now is that there doesn't seem to be any consensus!?

FMahavolich - Thanks for the tip about Mesa. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mesa at Atlantis. This is definitely on the list.

Not sure about eating seafood in the desert, but I do love my shellfish!

I am loving the idea of eating dinner with a view of the Bellagio fountain...definitely looking in to that.

Pink Taco - For real?!?!?

I checked out Tripadvisor's restaurant section on Vegas last time and found some good off-strip places.

I've never been either and it wasn't my choice to go, but I'm happy to take the opportunity.

I've been to the Nobu at Atlantis (Paradise Is, Bahamas) and didn't really find it very special. However, I thoroughly enjoyed Mesa Grill there. I'll definitely take that as a backup.

Sounds like an evening could be spent at Paris at Mon Ami Gabi and the Anthony Cool?

If my cardiologist signs off on it, it sounds like two big steak dinners are in order.

I looked up the Rio seafood buffet. Damn... I think I must...

I guess I better wear my buffet pants with the elastic waists.

Is the helicopter tour to the canyon worth the money?

cosmo buffet

PS - if you leave in a good place tip less than 20% they might give you silent treatment. I did that once by mistake and was glad that I did not have a woman with me.

If you have to eat a buffet, the ones at Bellagio and Wynn should be at the top of the list. Never tried the Rio.

Anyone ever try the Sterling Brunch Buffet at Bally's? $85, open only on Sundays, unlimited champagne, lobster, caviar, oysters, etc. Just curious if it's any good.
