I guess you are one of those assholes. It's not a powerpoint presentation it's a god damned movie and i don't want your phone wrecking it. I should not have to concentrate to avoid being distracted by you. I should be able to relax and let the movie draw me in.Babypowder said:you know whats pretty effin bright. the fucking movie screen. you people that are getting distracted by a cellphone light must have the attention span of a jelly fish.
The Alamo Drafthouse is the best theatre I've been in, every time I'm in Austin I check it out a few times. :thumb:I love this theatre chain!
skit123, what did the manager say when you talked to them?[/QUO
When I was told I will be with you in a moment by one of the girls while I saw the manager texting....I couldn't take it anymore and just left. In retrospect I should have vented as I was miserable the rest of the night.
like posting on a forum, FB, twitter, internets in general.TEXTING is ONE of the many ways the irresponsible use to avoid LIFE........... I don't want to think about what I should be taking care of, so I'll do some mindless activity instead.
Almost looks like an addiction.
FAST
and I guess you'd say the same thing to those of us who hate people talking ( even softly) throughout the movie? It is called a distraction and it is rude.you know whats pretty effin bright. the fucking movie screen. you people that are getting distracted by a cellphone light must have the attention span of a jelly fish.
The only phone that would distract me from a movie is my own. thats why i put it on silent or leave it in the car. im looking at the screen i dont have to "concentrate". if you are looking around the theater for phones that are turned on then you have no attention span or stop watching Twilight.I guess you are one of those assholes. They should design the theater to block out signal so phones just don't work there.
i think you need to read my first post again.and I guess you'd say the same thing to those of us who hate people talking ( even softly) throughout the movie? It is called a distraction and it is rude.
I decided to go to a movie last night at Colossus. Why do people need to constantly look at teir phone every 2 minutes to see whats going on. Whats going on is the god damn movie. I asked the people in front of me if they would stop and got the usual Woodbridge attitude. I go out to complain and guess what....the manager was texting when I went to the customer service counter. I guess it must have been a night where I was surrounded with a lot of very important people. Then today I go for lunch to a relative who has 3 teenage kids. I sit down and what do I see....a great meal with all 3 kids who have their place setting in order....knife, spoon, fork, and phone. WTF!
I think you need to stop being so self centered and be a little more considerate of others. With stadium seating the person behind you will have the bright light from your phone in their direct field of vision, so much so that they can probably read your screen.Babypowder said:The only phone that would distract me from a movie is my own. thats why i put it on silent or leave it in the car. im looking at the screen i dont have to "concentrate". if you are looking around the theater for phones that are turned on then you have no attention span or stop watching Twilight.

they are not shining anything into the eyes. thats the dumbest exaggeration ive heard this millennia. and if you are trying to read 10 point font on a <= 3.5 inch screen several rows down when you have a huge screen in front of you then you are definitely not paying any attention to the movie and wasting your own money like a fool.I think you need to stop being so self centered and be a little more considerate of others. Sounds is not the issue, basically you're shining a flashlight into the eyes if the people behind you and it is very, very annoying.
Yes, you are right, and all these other people just have a vendetta against cellphones.... Give me a break.they are not shining anything into the eyes. thats the dumbest exaggeration ive heard this millennia. and if you are trying to read 10 point font on a <= 3.5 inch screen several rows down when you have a huge screen in front of you then you are definitely not paying any attention to the movie and wasting your own money like a fool.
I always sit closest to the back as possible and the lights from phones never bother me. you need to work on your shitty attention span.
This isn't hypothetical. I have sat behind assholes like you, and yes, that is exactly what happens: It shines in my eyes. You can debate all you like, but you are literally arguing with what I've seen with my own eyes.they are not shining anything into the eyes.
People all the way to the back of the theatre behind you have a clear view of your screen in stadium seating, but obviously it is most annoying to those sitting directly behind you. They really should just reach out and smack the side of your head.and if you are trying to read 10 point font on a <= 3.5 inch screen several rows down when you have a huge screen in front of you then you are definitely not paying any attention to the movie
quit looking over peoples shoulder and watch the fucking movie. This isn't hypothetical. and yes, that is exactly what happens: It shines in my eyes. You can debate all you like, but you are literally arguing with what I've seen with my own eyes.

you must be the theater wall because that is what it feels like having a discussion with you. I am the 'people all the way to the back behind YOU'. i do have a clear view. i also have a great view of the screen. i dont have to move my head to see whats going on in the corners of the screen. every phone is in front of me but i have an amazing view of the screen. I dont let irrelevant things bother me. unlike you i don't have ADD nor do i have a goldfish brain.I have sat behind assholes like you,
again the theater wall is an inanimate object and cant react to anything. however if some one did put their hands on me for no reason while im watching a movie they would get stomped the fuck out and get a pepsi shampoo. but i doubt you even read this post because your ADD probably kicked in and can't keep from looking away from the light like a mosquito or a moth.People all the way to the back of the theatre behind you have a clear view of your screen in stadium seating, but obviously it is most annoying to those sitting directly behind you. i know I am Rhubarb. I know.Yes, you are right
I agree 100%They should design the theater to block out signal so phones just don't work there.
