Anybody catch Boardwalk Empire?

After I seeing the first epsiode it could be the best HBO show yet...

Seems to combined a lot of elements of other great HBO shows...

Intermixes real Historical Characters and Events into a Fictional Plot like Rome...
Has the realistic feel of The Wire...
And has the Gangsterism of the Sopranos..

I enjoyed watching Steve Buscemi getting wild reverse cowgirl from his hot floozie girlfriend, I didn't think that position was invented until 1949.

As an actor, writer and director, Steve Buscemi's work on The Sopranos was stellar. If HBO has given him creative freedom, this show will be as good as Da Bing.

Not bad for an ex-NYC fireman.

We enjoyed it, it is promising. As long as the keep the right mix of gangster business, and gangster home-life. So it is not a soap opera, but also not just mindless gangsterism without character development. Overall, it is a lot like The Soprano's.

It's gonna be a great series. The Pacific was awesome as well.

.... sorry to revive an old thread. STOP reading now if you don't want to know the twist to the Season 2 finale!

Is anyone else addicted to this series? I still am traumatized by Sunday's episode. Do you really think they killed off Jimmy?!?? They can't do that man - it's not cool =( I'm telling myself that there's gonna be some sort of twist - like it was a dream or something.... I can't let myself believe he's gone.

Any opinions? Argh! I dunno how I'm going to handle this stress until September :(

Loved the finale, love everything about this series and yes Jimmy is dead. You had to see this coming for awhile - they weren't going to kill off Nucky! Can't wait for next season but in the meantime we get to watch Madmen and Game of Thrones.

Really enjoyed this season. Last week everyone was talking about the scene. You knew it was coming but were still OMG, they did it.

... ya I think you guys are right - he's gone. Fak I gotta give the writers credit - it's pretty brave to take out such a central character (who's well-liked by the show's audience).

I read that next season will put more focus on Capone's character - the whole rise to the top. It should be really interesting.

I love boardwalk empire - really it's my all-time favourite series so-far.

Shit, thanks for telling me the ending, I didn't watch the last episode as I'm still recovering from the previous show where Jimmy fucked his mother, OMG, now he's gone? WTF, who's gonna do his mother now?

I thought it was brave to have Jimmy go and his death scene, location, and dialogue were all brilliant.

Lots of great hooks going forward. Like the church land thing...or more interestingly how Jimmy's super loyal right hand man will react...

Can't wait for the next season. It is definately my favourite current series.
