I am a James Bond fanatic and there is a new 007 movie coming out in the New Year called "Skyfall" starring Daniel Craig. Which is your favourite Bond movie and favourite 007 actor of all-time. My favourite actor was Roger Moore because he brought humour to the character and ironically my favourite movie was "From Russian With Love" starring Sean Connery.

I am right there with you, Doot. I clicked Casino Royale, the recent version, because I thought Dan Craig was great. However, Pierce Brosnan is my favorite Bond.
I cannot wait for the coming movie. I will likely see it late in the first week and buy it when it comes out on video.

You have Goldeneye twice in the poll. Maybe you meant Goldfinger.

lol...they say 2 eyes are better than one. My favourite is Moonraker with the scene of Jaws biting the tight rope with his set of stainless steel teeth. I also liked Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. He is a very good actor.

I used to say that the only real James Bond was Sean Connery, but Casino Royale won me over. Daniel Craig is now the best James Bond IMHO. The opening scene in that movie is over the top.

I know I'll get raked over this one, but I thought Daniel Craig was the most believable Bond yet, especially in Casino Royale. Unlike Moore, Brosnan or even Connery, he looks and acts as though he can kill you and in fact he does kill the bad guys in the last 2 movies. My vote is for Craig to continue.

The series has matured because it has been re-invented and it also needs to mature. A new decision was made by Wilson & Broccoli (the Producers) to NOT cross the line of believability. In the past, the series crossed over into comic book territory with stunts and scenarios that were fun to watch but downright absurd.

The most significant change to the franchise was not the signing of Daniel Craig but the signing of Paul Haggis ("Crash") as writer. He brought it back to 'real world' action in the same vain as the 'Bourne' films. The fact that Wilson & Broccoli passed up the chance to hire Paul Greenglass to direct really bit them in the ass. He went on to direct "Identity" and "Ultimatum" and totally stole the Bond thunder. They've now made the very wise decision to hire Oscar winner Sam Mendes to direct 'Skyfall' since in the past they only hired directors that they could push around so that they could run the show. Scorsese, Tarantino and Spielberg have all request to direct in the past and all were turned down to the detriment of the series.

The future looks better now for Bond but it's a long time coming.

Amazingly enough I agree with you, however Daniela Bianchi is Italian, likewise Famke Janssen (Goldeneye) is Dutch, while Izabela Skorupko (Goldeneye) is at least part Slavic her parents being Polish and Swedish.

Of course they left out Tatiana Romanova's patronymic one also wonder why they chose that name.

Yikes.. your right dude! Suppose to be Goldfinger(1964) and GoldenEye(1995). Anyways, I would pick Goldfinger between the two.

The first James Bond I saw was Rodger Moore in a View to a Kill. Duran Duran did the soundtrack.
Good movie and great sound track, Simon LeBon was the best vocalist back in the days.

The most famous Bond handgun.

The Walther PPK series pistols are blowback-operated semi-automatic pistols.

Who knows (without looking it up) why Fleming named James Bond, James Bond?
It was the name of a gardener. Fleming needed gardening advice for his Jamaica house which is coincidentally named 'Goldeneye'. He thought the name sounded great.

It is also by design that both James Bond and Jason Bourne have the same initials.
