I haven't been to a wedding in ten years. The groom and bride know I've been single for a while, and didn't seem to indicate there would be any available ladies despite me asking, so I'm going to take an escort as I'm tired of being sat in the back of the reception near the kitchen.

Anyone else done this? We've already put together a plausible story about how we met. She has a regular job she can talk about in social conversation.

Anyone have any tips on how to make this masquerade go smoothly?

Not a good idea. What if a few, say a dozen or so of male guests in the Wedding Banquet are her regulars and a couple of them blow her cover "by accident". :rolleyes:

She normally works in Vancouver, and most of the bride and grooms friends are in the Abbotsford area.

As long as it is not a family event. Those bastards will remember everything and question you later. On the bright side though you should have a good time and who knows, you might actually hit it off and start dating.

Excellent idea, they might even think she's going legit and you have no idea about her past life.
Besides you said there would be few singles at the wedding so, I doubt these guys would out her and run the risk of outing themselves.
